Does anybody know what the best NowTV box deal is?

Want it for Game of Thrones. Probably won't watch much else on it.... But, thinking, it has iPlayer on it, so can make use of the box after GOT has finished.

I do have NowTV app on my main TV, but thinking of getting a box with subscription for old TV that is in the gym room so I can watch other free content while exercising.

I assume that the box works for all the free apps (iplayer, youtube, etc.) without a NowTV subscription?

Have looked at Tesco, Currys and NowTV website - just wondering if there is a great deal out there that I have not spotted. Ideally, box + 3 months NowTV entertainment for cheap as chips.

Check Amazon? Twice in the last 4 months, they have sold the box with a 6 months Entertainment pass for around £20 (bagged two that way). Worth keeping an eye out for the next time.

£20 in Argos with a 3 month pass, £25 in Tesco but you'd get 500 clubcard points.
You've got 28 days to get one to avoid missing the first episode of Game of Thrones. Whilst the 6 month pass deals can be a bargain, if you are only after Thrones, grab one of the £20 boxes today.

As for the other services, they work fine even if you have no active passes (remember to cancel!)

MIssed that lightning deal, back up to £38.49.

Will probably pop to Argos on Saturday so I can catch up and watch the second episode on Monday night. Actually, Bank Hol. so can watch it during the day, lovely.

Ebay - I don't trust it! I imagine getting a box with a dodgy subscription. Had a bad Xbox experience on ebay, tend to only buy non-electrical stuff there now.

It's only possible to add a new pass when the current one has less than 30 days left, it will then start once the other finishes.

I've never bought from them, but they have been around for a while.

Now TV units are cheap at the moment because a new box is to be issued later this year. We originally had a white unit and then a black unit I bet the next box is a silver unit.

If you have a Now TV box it may well be worth waiting for the release of the new box.

Cheap at the moment? Amazon do deals on them every 4-5 weeks.

Not sure what they could update about the current box if the service stays the same that would be beneficial, to be honest. Also not sure why it would be silver...

Tesco are currently doing the 3 month Entertainment Now TV box for £15, so if you have any Tesco vouchers it might be worth paying them a visit. The movie pack is also available but I didn't note the price of that box.

If they're matching ASDA (who also have the Ent pack for £15) then the 4 month movie pack may still be £25.

How? Got a link?

They could just make the TVP app compatible with their current system and not need a hardware upgrade at all..

If there are any left then the best deal is in PC World. They're selling the old white Nowtv box for £7.97 with 3 months entertainment deal. In store only.

How? Got a link?
Sky are bringing a 4K capable box out for Christmas, again made by Roku (black not silver!).

https://corporate.sky.com/media-cent...vanced-box-yet

The assumed Freeview addition comes from this quote from Gidon Katz "....a flexible way of watching the best of pay TV and free-to-air content all in one place.”

Unless I missed it, there's nothing there about it being 4k - NowTV only pump out their own stuff in 720, IIRC.

With them saying "...which will sit alongside the existing NOW TV Box" I don't think this will be a replacement to the current box, more like a premium edition.

Agreed, just as they still sell the white box through resellers.

4K capable
The Roku 4 box (which this is) caters for online 4K streamers like Netflix and does have an sd card for such, so there's scope there for Sky ( or third parties ) to activate the features.
