I think at least one person asked in their pm about this, but like last contest, I do a 32 second clip for the recaps so I can 30 seconds of video and 1 second transition on either side. So if you want to choose your recap bit, make it 32 seconds only.

Banging my head against a brick wall with my good country lol.

They're all foreign language songs and all sound the same to me.

Plenty of time. Gonna take a miracle... Woah-Ohhh..

You need to find something that we will
keep on singing, all along
and not something that the radio stopped to play long ago, long ago

I was planning to send that Czezh song but when I saw Albania is in the same group as Czech Rep, I changed my mind.

Also, some people here are like sharks. I want to send to songs for Lebanon or Bosnia but they're gone very quickly.

Four more for y'all!

Entry 9
LEBANON: Shakira - "Try Everything"
The Latin songstress and former Voice USA coach is hoping to make a bit more of a splash after being disqualified in Saint Helier. Hopefully her nationstate of Lebanon votes in her QF in Christchurch.

Entry 10
SWEDEN: Violet Days - "Screaming Colors"
Sweden has had countless success in this competition, but has surprisingly failed to make the final for the past 3 contests. Hoping to change that is first-time (for Sweden, at least) entrant Violet Days.

Entry 11
POLAND: Elle King - "America's Sweetheart"
Yes, Elle King is eligible - her grandfather hails from the great nation of Poland. Hopefully her ode to her own nationstate will be better received than Poland's last entry.

Entry 12
WESTERN ASIA: Kanika Kapoor, Ravindra Upadhyay, Miraya Varma, and Fateh - "Lovely"
Bollywood is a first for the main voting rounds of DSFE, as are all four of the singers represented today. 1/4 of this quartet hails from Bahrain; as such, Western Asia is hoping that 4/4 propel them to the final.

Check back in a few hours for the next batch of 3rd countries!

Knew Violet Days would be entered eventually.

Shakira for Lebanon. I probably should've looked for Elle King's ancestry because I love her music.

On another note - in checking the Wiki, I noticed there's an error on Gotland's page for my most recent entry. Can someone who has better Wikia skills than I do help edit that for me?

The only connection of Elle King to Poland I managed to find was this:

Elle’s paternal grandfather is Marvin Schneider (the son of Solomon Schneider and Ann Molly Hoffman). Solomon was a Jewish immigrant from Galicia (most of which was then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire) or Poland.

So, if Solomon was her grand-grandfather, is she certainly eligible?

Yawn. That's a nil pointer from me. Sorry Elle.

(I went to a Swedish/Croatian wedding the other year. The Swedish bit was all lovey dovey, the Croatian bit was a huge band and everyone dancing like lunatics. The Balkans know how to party )”

If it's on Netflix then I'll check it out

If both her grandfather's parents are Polish then her grandfather is Polish, no?

The eligibility requirements from the first post state that an artist is eligible if their grandparent has full ancestry from the particular nation state.

The reason that I deemed this entry eligible is that both of her fathers' grandparents are 100% Polish, making her grandfather similarly Polish. As such, Elle, being the granddaughter of a Polish person, is eligible to be entered for Poland. There is more information confirming her ancestry on her father's IMDB page.

How you choose to rank entries is, and has always been, up to you - just clarifying that I did do the research, and it meets my standards for eligibility. Similar cases have been permitted in the past.

I love both of my entries - I'm just hoping that the rest of you do. I'm happier sending in stuff I love and doing badly anyway.

For those who want a 3rd country...

BELARUS

and

GEORGIA

are now available for grabs! Please send an entry to BOTH BethnalGreen and myself. If you've already claimed a 3rd country, you cannot claim one of these. Give everyone a chance to have some love!

I was going to take Georgia but I think I'll let somebody else have that honour.

You'd have been too slow, anyway. Georgia HAS BEEN CLAIMED.

Belarus still needs a loving home, though!

If only this were eligible.

I know I watched her Who Do You Think You Are programme. She is a producer of the show which in the US is a remake of the UK version, the original I also do a lot of family genealogy myself which is why I watch that stuff! It's like being a detective and things you find out are fascinating!!!!
