Fascinating continuity error. What does it reveal?

Here is a clip of one of last year's child prodigies Maia Gough.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dG63_nwX8tw

At 3.54 they show her proud father clapping, except that it's not her father, it's the father of this year's Beau Dermott. Does this mean that Beau applied last year, they were considering using her hence the footage of her father, but finally decided she wasn't yet good enough?

The same angle, same man but in the right clip, ie a clip of Beau this year

At the beginning of the first clip, they show 2 people with Ant & Dec and identify them as her parents. The dad in that case looks nothing like Beau's dad. The guy who stands up at the end certainly does look like Beau's dad from this year though, but I'm not sure where it says HE is the dad. He just looks like a guy in the audience who really liked it. But yes, it is Beau's father.

What could it mean? Hmm, perhaps they recycle clapping and audience shots and the one we saw from this year wasn't Beau's dad.

I'll watch them again.

Maybe Beau and Maia are related. Cousins perhaps? Could this guy be an uncle? I posted earlier that Beau and Jack are cousins. He's the ballet dancer.

In any case, well spotted.

According to this story, Beau auditioned unsuccessfully last year. That would account for her father being in the audience with a camera trained on him.

The little girl screaming saying "push the golden buzzer" is the greatest "fake" TV moment of the year so far. LOL!!! Bless her.
