I have 10 metres of component cable - anybody want it?

I have recently upgraded my projector so have no need for 10 metres of high quality component cable. Rather than just throw it away, does anyone here have a use for it? A few forum members helped me out with my new projector purchase so thought I would return the favour! Free collection from Chelmsford or happy to post if buyer pays postage.

Stick it on www.freecycle.org or Ebay

HD video came off component, so the cables are just not in demand.

I would give it to a local charity shop because there is always someone who needs a long cable.

Keep it in the 'man draw' as you never know when you or a family member etc may need it. Like a lot of things its amazing how suddenly an old cable can come in useful, i've dug out old scsi bits and bobs over the years to sort out problems etc and you will k now that 5 mins after you hand it over to someone that something will fail and that would of been a brilliant backup while you ordered a replacement cable.

This. I have a couple of boxes of 'bits' that sensibly would have been chucked or given away yonks ago, and the number of times it's come to the rescue is about 26. Prob.

Hang on to it, unless you really are short of space.

Thanks guys. I just can't see me ever having the need to use it again though!

Depending on the way it is constructed and whether it can be separated easily and without damage then you might be able to turn 1x Component cable.in to 3x 10m subwoofer leads. There's a hell of a lot more people needing sub leads than Component video leads. Someone looking to hide their sub lead under the carpet could easily use up 10m by the time the cable has travelled around the edge of the room.

BTW, thank you for the altruistic gesture. It's heartwarming to see someone recognise the value of the help and advice given in this forum and want to do something in rocognition.

To help you find the right person/people for your lead I would suggest two further actions: The first is pictures. These really are worth a thousand words. Although you can't post images directly in to this forum it is possible to post links to pictures hosted elsewhere. There are plenty of free image hosting sites. I use Photobucket but there are lots of others to choose from.

Second, if you have no take-up here then consider placing an advert on AVForums. There's a lot more traffic there.

Good luck
