According to Moto UK, both the G4 Plus and G4 are dual SIM as standard but the G4 Play is single SIM.

More info.
I thought Moto said it would be an option available on Moto maker, that list says it's available but on Moto maker right now you can't select a dual sim option, I think it's coming soon rather than standard feature.

That's what I thought but as I was bored I used their Live support chat now and Mohammed told me what I posted earlier. I should have saved the text really.

Google asks manufacturers to support a device for 18 months, so it stands to reason it will support N (due out late this year) and O which will likely seed to developers around the same time as N did this year.

In a way, it's possibly better to say Android O specifically, than just saying 'supported for nn months' but it still seems a little odd.
How many Android phone manufacturers keep their phone updated for 18 months?

Its the no NFC and weird fingerprint scanner "button" that isnt that are the down sides to this, making the new Samsung Galaxy c5 at pretty much the same price look much more appealing, for me anyway!

That high price is if you choose the most expensive option, ie 64GB etc on Moto Maker. Where it will do well is in places like Tesco, where coupons and discount codes will bring the price down to where the old G's were.

Also, that review is probably the worst phone review ever. He doesn't seem to know the difference between ambient light and flash. I've seen some remarkably detailed photos from it even in macro mode.

I still prefer the G4 than the Plus, hope the 13MP is as good as the 16MP.

I forgot about HTC

I was referring to Sony, they have such a poor track record when it comes to updating handsets I would never consider buying from them. You would be lucky is a Sony flagship receives one OS update, never mind two.

Shame their phones seem good but too expensive for my tastes.

Looks to be around £225 for the 32gb which seems reasonable. Need to wait for the reviews to see what the camera is like though!

No NFC in 2016 for a high profile decent spec phone seems a poor choice from moto considering android pay is finally taking off this year and google will be trying to promote it. I think they will be some disappointed people that have spent £200+ on a new phone and see android pay being promoted and find out they cant use it.

Seems like Motorola have screwed up with this dual SIM option, customer service say one thing and Moto forums admin say another. Unfortunately, it looks like the UK versions are only single SIM.

I got an email from Motorola promoting its products for Fathers Day here in the UK and it says the G4 Plus has a dual SIM option, but doesn't mention it anywhere for the G4.

No. Since Lenovo took over I've stopped getting review units.

I can try to source them from somewhere else but I'm quite busy on other things these days.

From the Moto forums quote;
We are working with Google on paying via finger print in AndroidPay.
Is that posssible?

In America at least you can use Android Pay to purchase items in apps etc. So in that sense, it should be possible to use the fingerprint scanner to do that, but it still won't be possible to use contactless terminals.
