Hi all ( mainly Fataura )
Is the list of bugs complete? There are a couple of minor things that I can't see listed. Just wondering...... Cheers Tom |

I'd already filtered it to the appropriate model so was just wondering if there were any more bugs?

@Fataura
On your Vestel bug list I can't see the bug which stopped both our T7665s recording after a couple of Under the Dome episodes. Is it on there? Also last week I finally tried to reproduce the awful performance recording wise I got from the T7655 in the first couple of weeks of ownership, and couldn't reproduce. I am very impressed with the compliance to 3 tuning aspects of d-book 8 which were announced by digitalUK over a year ago as being on the horizon for d-book 8 post March 2016. The Humax freeview play can't even match one of those three! Two of them are to do with multiple transmitter reception and so you wouldn't have personally noticed. |

If you've found an issue not listed, feel free to add it yourself. Somewhat lazily, I often email Vestel about issues before adding them there, but I'm trying to get out that habit! Also, there are a number of issues listed under the T7650 and T7300 section which the T7655 Emerald has inherited and haven't been fixed.
Regarding the Under the Dome issue, this was something again I discussed in detail over email - Vestel/Cabot did test it at the time and it recorded for them when it didn't for me, and then of course the problem went away after a couple of weeks, so never really did get to the bottom of that. That said, I've not seen it happen with anything since then. One issue I have only just discovered is that of EPG population - this is broken in v1.21.3, but OK in v1.20.2. It struggles to keep the programme descriptions of the full 8 days populated, which is the exact same problem the Amber models have. This was fixed at some point for Emerald, but has now reappeared. The main issue that I'm trying to solve at the moment is http://pvrbugs.futaura.co.uk/view.php?id=409 - I was convinced it never happened with v1.20.2, but it did happen to me yesterday. It could possibly be triggered by a broadcast related change. Unfortunately, I've yet to pin the problem down - once a reproducible test case is found, I'm sure Vestel will fix. |

Not got access to the laptop at the moment to have a proper look but don't you need some form of account to log bugs?
The two I've come across are. When a recording starts the channel of the recording is displayed on the front panel rather than the channel being viewed. 2nd one is. After watching a recording the available button options that are displayed are the folder options. To get the delete option (red button) I need to move up or down the list and back to get it displayed. Even without the red button showing it's still possible to delete the recording by pressing the red button. I hope I've explained that properly? Cheers. Tom |

Not sure if this bug is in the list....
but if you have 2 series records setup for overlapping start times and you are watching a previously recorded program - the 2nd series record to start simply does not record - no error messages - no attempt to record from a later recording - is just ignored and never gets recorded. Can be quite annoying when you discover what's happened later on. Cheers pee_bee |

What happens with me is dependant on whether or not the programme that starts to record is on the same mux as the programme being watched. If it is on the same mux my box attempts to switch channels. If it is NOT on the same MUX then it does not attempt to switch. |

I can't reproduce that. I'm using a B500DTRN software UK-v1.20.2 (project_emerald-2015-03-1-17-11-47)

It dosn't appear to be in the list of bugs for either of the T7655s or the T7650. Does it always do this for you as described or might it be only certain channel combinations? Could you report on a combination of channels that it definitely happens on all the time? |

Can you reproduce the fault consistantly? What are the exact channels you use to reproduce including the channel that you were watching before entering the library? Possibly it also depends on the series as well. Which series were you attempting to record? |

1. The front panel showing the channel number of the recording is a new bug in v1.21.3 - I noticed this too, but when I tried to come up with a quick test case it would never happen. I've seen it happen while the box is in standby and also while it is switching on on live TV or playing a recording. I think it is probably related to which of the two tuners is assigned to the recording, and could well be dependent on which mux the box is currently tuned to as Luis Essex suggests.
2. One of the first things I reported to Vestel after getting my hands on an Emerald box was how poor I felt the folder/series sorting of the library was. This includes the wrong options being displayed at the bottom of the screen after playback. I would advise against using that mode - it is painful when your HDD fills up. I would assume this is not a high priority fux. But, I'll find my old emails and add this one myself. 3. I also can not reproduce series recording failures - it us a common occurrence for me to be playing something back when two recordings start and I have never had any failures when doing this. It would be nice to have more details for this and perhaps a test case. The only thing that springs to mind is maybe it happen if the recordings are on two different muxes whilst live TV was tuned to a completely different mux before playback started (as I mostly record and watch channels from onlt two of the muxes). |

Issues 1 and 2 we can live with, only minor niggles.
Can't say we've had any recording issues though. We've only had it a few weeks but so far it's been fine....Bring on sod's law ![]() Cheers Tom |

Another reason I should put everything on the bug tracker first - http://pvrbugs.futaura.co.uk/view.php?id=413 - I'd forgotten I'd reported all those things, although at the time I was unsure if the folder sort mode was an experimental not for release feature.
I'd have to say that it has generally been ultra reliable for me when it comes to recording - better than any previous model. Fortunately, the first version I used was v1.15, after the recording problems of older releases had been fixed. |

2nd recording fails if watching a previous recording

It's a bit difficult to say exactly which channels are involved as it's something I try to avoid as I don't like requested recordings not being there.... I do know it's happened many times....I'll try to do some experiments and report the results. Cheers pee_bee |

Finally got our 7650 box empty so have now switched over to watching recordings from the 7655 box.
Had our first taste of the freeze during playback. 4 times over two programmes. One occasion it was twice in the space of 5 mins. Very annoying Hopefully it be diagnosed and dealt with sometime soon. Fingers crossed Cheers. Tom |

Sounds excessive - how full is the HDD?
If you spot a pattern, please share, as I'm having great trouble finding one. I can go weeks without seeing the problem. Last time I had it happen was within a minute or two of powering on out of standby. One theory was that it was related to having expired series timers in the timer list. How many do you have, if any? I have to say I'm not too convinced by this theory. |

The box had been on for about 10 mins before we started watching something.
The hard drive is maybe just over a quarter full. Not sure about the expired timers, will check and post later but I'm almost certain that we had cleared them a day or two ago. Cheers. Tom |

The Mrs mentioned she had playback freeze earlier in the day too.
Regarding expired timers, non there at the time of the issue last night although there's one now. Watching last night's Question Time now and so far no problems Cheers. Tom Edit. Spoke too soon, 5 mins before the end of the programme it did it ![]() Box had been on for about an hour if that's of any use? Cheers. Tom |

Just saw another tiny little bug that was present on our old 7650 machine.
The fast forward icon sticks on screen when play is resumed. Although after fast forwarding the next break it cleared. As I've been typing this we're watching Britain's got talent and around 30 mins after the box has been on its frozen during playback again. The Mrs gave me one of her tuts as if to say plug the old machine back in again......... Cheers. Tom Edit... Another freeze 5 mins after the first one. And again, about 5 mins after resuming play following a fast forward of the break. Cheers. Tom |

Strange - approximately how many weekly series timers and how many daily series timers do you have set? Just wondering if that is a factor in the freezing.
Also wondering if fast forwarding could help trigger it as I mostly use the 30 and 120 second skip buttons for adverts. Something for me to try anyway. You may wish to try reverting to v1.20.2 using the file from my website, as others have said the freezing isn't so much of an issue with that. It won't wipe you timers or library, but be sure to either quickly disable automatic updates after downgrading and/or disconnect the Ethernet cable (otherwise it'll download and update to v1.21.3). |

while this thread is here heres a few problems i posted on the other thread has anyone had anything similar
when flicking through channels i will stop on a channel and it just shows a black screen, first thought is the channel is down, but i try another channel and they are all showing a black screen, no sound, then if i try to go into my library and try to play a programme it wont play it just goes back to the blank tv channel then i am restricted to just two channels to change too also if i happen to be recording a programme at that moment in time if i press library button again, it will ask do you want to stop recording this channel,as if i have pressed the stop button also had issues with the EPG flickering and jumping making the channel behind visible whilst scrolling through channels, and the now and next interface not fully loading just showing half of the banner, |

No daily and 20 weekly timers all series linked.
Regarding the fast forward over using the skip function, I still had a freeze towards the end of question time recorded on BBC 1. Does it matter to buffers and the like if the issue is only present on HD recordings? I downloaded the older firmware about a month before we even got the box so might give it a try. Presumably I can move up and down versions at any time without issue? The auto upgrade won't be an issue as we don't have it connected to the router. Cheers. Tom |

Can't say we've noticed any of the issues you mention but we've only been using the box properly for a couple of days Cheers. Tom |

Yes. It will probably trigger a FTI each time, so needing a retune, etc, but it will not clear the timers (they'll repopulate once the EPG does).
