Sorry, can't make out any name - just a silver coloured square thing with traces of very small black text.

I just managed to see W through one slot and D through another. AV and the number 25 through another couple. Did a bit of googling and bingo.
Although if you've got a different brand the markings may not be visible....... Cheers Tom |

Yes, looking through the two holes at the right if the unit, at the front, this is where WD and www.westerndigital.com can be seen. With Toshiba drives, need to look 5 holes in from the right, again at the front, and in slightly larger type TO H A should be clearly visible - the missing letters can be seen from an angle.

I don't suppose this is classed as a bug, more an annoying feature...
When a timer is due, and you're watching, and message pops up asking if the recording should go ahead because it conflicts with what you are watching (seems to be over-fussy as it will warn about a recording on BBC2 when I am on BBC1 and there are no other recordings going on!) However the real issue I have is it defaults to 'do not proceed'! So if you leave your box 'on' but you aren't watching and don't respond to the message, it will happily skip the recording! Rant over. (Hitachi 501) |

... (Hitachi 501) And to make sure I wasn't mistaken I've just now deliberately trued it. (Bush v1.22.1) |

Yes, I too find that it defaults to proceed - it changes channel automatically if you don't answer. I will do some checking as maybe it depends on the channels (muxes) involved.
Then, there is this known issue that has existed for years back to a new feature originally introduced on the T7650, which covers the case where that message pops up unnecessarily. |
