Hi

This is in relation to another post of mine

Can someone tell me the difference here:

If an IPad says similar to:
Apple Distrubution, Cork Ireland
and
For Malaysia, Apple Malaysia

Bought an iPad Pro on Rakuten which was advertise with the U.K. MPN number but the box has the For Malaysia

What's the difference?

Thanks

For the WiFi only models there is only one model of iPad Pro for each size. Regardless of which market it was sold in it will be the same model of iPad.

There are often 2 or 3 of variants of the cellular models to account for the different cellular technologies and frequency bands used around the world.

The part number on the outside of the box is different to the iPad's part number. It is the part number for the complete packaged product which varies by region as they will have different items inside the box, such as mains power plugs and warranty documentation.

Malaysia uses the same mains power plug and mains voltage as we do here in the UK so the box may well contain the same charger as is supplied in the UK.

Perhaps the most significant difference, as pointed out on your other thread, is the warranty. Although Apple do often honour warranty claims for hardware from other regions they don't have to, and reserve the right to refer you to the regional Apple subsidiary that originally sold it.

Also, as it sounds very much like this is not an authorised Apple reseller we're talking about here, the warranty period would have started when the seller purchased the iPad and not when you purchased it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply with such a full answer. I really appreciate it.
