I would cut down on the back stories of the contestants for a start.

What would you change, get rid of, or add to make BGT better?

Cancel it?

Cut out the clips of the audience ooing and awing . Ask the audience to have manners and not clap and roar mid song
Get rid of David Walliams and his boring repetitive acting

Get rid of the talentless overpaid 'judges.'

It's a talent show which pays boring 'celebrities' for pulling faces and over acting. We don't need them.

Ban sob stories of any kind. They make me cringe.

imo- I think some of the judges comments and audience reactions add to the entertainment value of the show as some of them can be quite funny which makes for a more enjoyable show-imo

but the way I think they can improve is to give the acts in the live stages more stage time to perform their act instead of usual 2-3 minutes

It needs to stop being obsessed with singing and dancing acts. Episodes 1 and 2 had more variety but the last two weeks have returned to normal.

ITV would NEVER have the guts to do that because it's one of those shows that make them a hefty profit.

Without it ITV would lose so much money and those days of making a profit would be over.

Replace Dixon, Holden and Walliams (especially Walliams).
Focus on the talent on stage rather than showing shots of the judges and Anton Deck constantly.
Make the show only open to acts that have been resident in Britain for at least 3-5 years .
No back / sob / R-Nan stories.
Only allow singers on that don't meet the criteria to enter The Voice or X-Factor
Open it to proper bands (ones that play instruments as well as sing).
Cut out the joke acts that go through (Never happened on Op Knocks or New Faces).

BIB ... Yes, I find that annoying too. I haven't been a long-time viewer of the show, but I find it genuinely baffling that someone in charge thought this was something the viewing audience at home would want to see. Perhaps they weren't getting enough genuine reactions for the cameras that they had to resort to soliciting them.

The show is fine.

There is still plenty of talent, a consistent and entertaining judging panel, and the show brings in a huge and again consistent amount of viewing figures year on year.

The only think I would like to see is a bit more variety, but that hardly changes the fact I find the show entertaining.

People just like to moan over nothing.

Well, ain't that the truth.

If I hated it as much as some profess to, I wouldn't watch it.
Its all a bit puzzling.

Yes and no. I would say if someone professed to hate it enough to say it should be cancelled altogether, then yes, perhaps they need to find something else more to their liking. But I suspect for many viewers they do like the show but feel certain elements could be improved upon.

I haven't done an official count or anything, but I see the likes and dislikes of the show about even on this forum. Besides, it's not as if Simon Cowell is reading the DS forums and taking any of this on board. Just a bit of fun for us plebs.

I agree. This week Vox Fortis worked really hard to produce great harmonies, but they were almost drowned out by the witless audience yelling and clapping all the way through. Save applause for the end, people!

Well if that's the case, then it wouldnt be gutsy to cancel it, it would be stupidity.

Ban singers and kids and get rid of Alisha and Amanda.

Actually just cancel the show would be a much better solution.

Cancelling it is NOT a good solution at all.

In fact, it's the worst thing ITV could do for the following reasons:
1) ITV makes a HUGE profit from BGT every year and they will suffer financially without it!
2) It still has millions of fans that watch it and without it they will have nothing to watch!
3) It is criminal for a TV station to axe their most rating-grabbing and profitable TV show!

No sob stories

Stop walliams putting through painful talentless individuals just to annoy Simon

Make Amanda do the show naked.

Well said. I find it year in, year out an enjoyable TV show. It doesn't take itself too seriously, and has become much better than The X Factor in recent years. It isn't perfect, but it don't half get some stick on here, which I find a bit strange. Each to their own, I suppose.
