I have just seen on the BT website a notice about price changes, saying:
Some of our prices are changing on 3rd July 2016
Line rental is rising to £18.99/mth
Line rental saver is rising to £205.08
Call set up fee is rising to 19.00p
Weekday calls are rising to 11.00p/min
This is an increase of £1 since last years price increase, 5.5% increase.

No doubt the offers will also follow.

In 4 years the line rental saver has risen around £80 that's a huge jump!

Amazingly, calls of more than three minutes will cost more from a landline than from a street payphone.

I really can't understand why anyone uses BT any more - they must have more money than sense !

It is indeed, I've had it for years. Though to be fair, the discounts originally offered were ridiculously high, at over 20% when savings interest rates were 0.5% to 3% pa (and still are). You could even pay for it from your credit card and spread it over a year but still be cheaper than the monthly!

The current 10% discount is more in line with what you normally get with this kind of advance payment, though the previous discounts were verrrry nice to have! And I always get a 8 month delay before I have to pay the increase, as mine renews at the end of February.
