Do you actually know anyone who seems to be rabidly obsessed about it? Or have you just read some stuff online about them being hard to get, and simply chosen to use the term in order to reinforce the stereotype that you like to believe?”

Have you read the posts on OCUK - those guys are something else.

I haven't. But God forbid anyone should be enthusiastic about something.

Arguably better than just whining and being negative about things.

Would you like to suggest a ballpark % split between those two groups?

There's a difference between enthusiasm and out and out worship.

Not really. You appear to have lot's of answers so perhaps you could do the honours?

Cop out - this is your argument, I shouldn't have to answer for you.

You're the one labouring this point, you should be able to put a ballpark figure on it.

Humour us.

What are some of the most worshipy things people have said?

Impossible without access to sales figures and I'm not about to wade through that mire. My post stands - you know I'm right!

I'm sure there are deep rooted reasons why some people dislike others being so enthusiastic and joyful about products they have chosen to buy. I realise a lot of the stuff I gush over is pretty simplistic joy, and there are absolutely much more important things to me in my life, but anything that makes me smile and makes me happy in life is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Even the most simple joy is good and healthy. It sure beats depression, anger and misery.

OK - it sounded as though some of the comments had made quite the impression on you, so I thought maybe you would have been able to recall some.

Convenient that you can't seem to recall any, and can't be bothered to have a quick look for a juicy quote.

Its enough to make anyone thing you were just being overly melodramatic to peddle your nice little stereotype. Funny, that.

Hi all

Question for folks who had their Iphone's courier delivered, especially from DHL. I got a message that my 7 plus was shipped yesterday via DHL standard service. Estimated delivery date 19th Oct. Just wondering if anyone else got a DHL delivery and how long it took from dispatch? Just curious as am hoping it comes next week

Thank you and sorry for the boring question

It's probably dispatched from China and will sit for a few days here and there enroute while it waits for a plane

I've just received one this morning via DHL Express, I got the dispatch notification on Monday this week. It was very similar with a work colleague's one as well.

I have just returned from town assisting a friend whose looking for a new phone. The staff in the shop very kindly lined up with most of the big brands side by side on a bench e.g. both iPhones, HTC, Samsung, Sony, Huawei.

The two phones which stood out as being just two big was the Note 7 and the iPhone 7 plus. My friend made exactly the same comment. The staff member also made a similar observation as the two of us. If you are looking to combine a phone and tablet the 7 plus and the Note 7 is a good choice.

However, simply as a phone then both are two big. They don't sit in a trouser pocket comfortably and are to big for many jacket pockets. When used as a phone frankly people look somewhat ridiculous.

The iPhone 7 is much the better size as too is the Samsung S7 rather than the Edge. Obviously not everyone will agree. I don't think any of them are worth the asking price either.

P.S. we came away empty handed as my friend couldn't decide what he wanted, if any.

Get your friend an SE, they will love it. I love mine and have no allegiance either way.

I love the SE. However, my friend has fingers like sausages (as do I) and although he liked the SE, commented that he would find the keyboard just that bit too small. We are also of a very similar age and there was concern regarding the smallness of the screen for reading websites etc.

I do think these are valid points when you are getting more senior - a shame really.

A 5 to 5.2 inch screen, depending on the bezel size, seems to be a good size for most hands.

It is funny to look back when an XL phone had a 4.5 or 4.7 inch screen, and everything else around 3.5 to 4 inches, but it's a gradual process.

You can manage a small increase each upgrade, but to go from an early smartphone with a 3 or 3.5 inch screen to 5.5 or 5.7 inches would be a huge leap.

I don't now think large screens look ridiculous and increasingly see people of varying ages with large screened phones who seem to appreciate them for watching films (having ditched their tablets, no doubt) and having a decent size keyboard for messaging. But pocketability is a thing.

Many pockets are now made that bit bigger for modern smartphones so I guess you don't just upgrade your phone but wardrobe too!!

Well the wardrobe for younger people may now have larger pockets for accommodating smartphones but that hasn't reached the wardrobes for us seniors. Certainly not my suite pockets. I think I might be too old for 'sagging trousers'.

You must have room in a suite. 😉

Not without spoiling the fashion line of the suit which isn't really desirable. You just end up looking like your packing a concealed weapon.

Ah yes you're right, I hadn't noticed the error. This auto correct drives me mad at times. I know I wrote 'suit' but chrome thinks it knows better.
