Not Victoria Coren though. She's a bit superior.
I agree that Sandi has refreshed up the show. |

If you want to hear the full fat version of his long rambling anecdotes then go to one of his shows?

The other week they spoke about the difference in sounds between cold and hot water. I went to the BBC Birmingham tour a few years back where they take you around the set of 'The Archers'.
They explained that they once received a letter from a listener to say that during a scene where a character makes a cup of tea, the water they poured was cold. From then on a working kettle is there to use for such scenes. |

Yep, it's been a very enjoyable run so far and the 'Nighty Night' episode was really good fun. Liked the running gag about kettle peeing. Sandi has slotted into her role effortlessly. Really freshened things up,

Sorry but I have to disagree with popular opinion here.
As much as I like Sandi as a presenter, I cannot get into this new series of QI. For me this was Stephen;s show. This series may grow on me eventually but several episodes in hasn't changed my opinion. |

Yes I know but surprised the BBC would still use him now.

It doesn't even have the words: 'perhaps' or 'maybe' to make it like one of those American semi-questions dependent on a rising intonation. |

Why does your sentence have a question mark when it's not even in the form of a question?

"It must be sad" is not a question
Shakespeare: Forsooth I know not what manner of poem I should write for this funeral! Muse: It must be sad? S: Indeed, for the dog no longer hath a master. M: It must be sad? S: Aye. No hound hath ever looked so down in the mouth nor teared of eye. |

Sez who? It is a statement seeking confirmation and is rightly terminated with a question mark. Observe and learn ..
Shakespeare: Forsooth I know not what manner of poem I should write for this funeral! Muse: It must be sad? S: Indeed, for the dog no longer hath a master. M: It must be sad? S: Aye. No hound hath ever looked so down in the mouth nor teared of eye. Now, at a stretch one could argue that the American/Australian/increasingly hip British affectation of making statements and adding rising tones, suggesting a question mark, is a direct line to Shakespeare, but I would say that's bollox. |

I have just watched Ms Tostig in charge for the first time and will admit to being very pleasantly surprised - and I am not a fan of hers at all normally. Like others have said she has refreshed the show enormously.
Now if only we can get rid of the prat Davies. |

Now if only we can get rid of the prat Davies. Her name is Sandi Toksvig. Don't know if she prefers the Ms or Mrs title but she is married. |
