I was wondering if I can use a voice sim card in my Samsung g tab s, I am going on holiday to the u.s and was looking to get a three sim card for my trip, and I was looking to get the all in one 20 add on if possible, I am going to get that sim for my phone anyway, but just wondering if I can use it my tablet for the data useage, as the other sim I was looking at from three was the 1gb, 3gb, 12 gb pay as you go data sim cards

Three don't allow PAYG handset SIM cards in tablets.

You could use a data sim, the new data sim has 3-2-1 rates for UK use (I don't know about international costs as it can't use the all in one add-ons).

You can use it for Feel at Home with the specific data add-ons offered though.

Acutally that isn't strictly true, it all depends how Three classes the Tab S. Given it can make phone calls it is for all wants and purposes a large smartphone. When I had my Tab S I had no issue using my 321 PAYG sim inside of it. When it comes to some Android devices, its a little difficult for Three to be able to tell if its a tablet or not.

I would hazard a bet that the OP would get away with it, seeing as it does make calls...........

I thought the Tab S came as 8.4" and 10.5" and Three only allow up to 7" to count as a phone?

Oh well, live and learn, thanks for the info.

With the 3-2-1 Data sim you can buy data add on’s to use in At Home countries, they cost £15 for 2GB, £20 for 5GB and £25 for 10GB and they all expire after 30 days.

The standard 3-2-1 International top ups can be used in At Home countries at the same 3-2-1 rates that you get in the UK with a standard 3-2-1 sim.

One other advantage over the standard 3-2-1 sim is you can use the sim in any device with the likes of phone, Mifi, Tablet or dongle.

I’ve not used my data sim outside of the UK but that’s the way the T&C’s read to me.

Same way I've read them, I've just had a quick search to post them here but can't find them again, Three have a really poor site to search for specific info.

I am not saying its exclusively the case, however Three doesn't have a great detection rate on Android devices anyway.....seeing as people can still tether limit free even on the newer one plan.

On a Samsung Galaxy Tab, if you use third party maintenance apps, it will show up the green Phone app symbol in the results on a virus scan so it’s been pre-installed on these tablets, but you just can’t access the phone app from the home screen or from the installed Apps screens.

Technically as the Phone App is pre-installed on a Samsung Galaxy Tab, you can legally insert a standard three 3-2-1/All In One PAYG sim on one of those tablets if it has a sim card slot on it.

Mine is a samsung galaxy tab 3 @ 8" though it does not have a sim card slot on it.

I would have thought that the standard three PAYG smartphone sim inserted in your smartphone or tablet and using Personal hotspot on them (or inside a mifi device) to tether to your laptop, PC, PS4, virgin or sky set top box and the like would be the tethering that three would be able to detect. That is the only true tethering there is really. Inserted in your tablet that behaves more like a smartphone rather than a laptop or PC is not really tethering to my mind, even if three may class a > 7" Galaxy tablet as a tethering device.
