buffet sandwiches

Hello everyone

Probably a very dumb question coming up but would it be ok to make plain cheese sandwiches for a buffet the night before or do they need making on the day?

As I say they are just plain, grated cheese and the butter of course. I have googled but I am getting different advice from everywhere.

Many thanks in advance for any advice, hints or tips

On a Mary Berry show a while ago, she shared her tip of making sandwiches the day before and putting them in a baking tray covered with a damp tea towel and cling film - then putting them in the fridge. Certain fillings were a no-no - things like tomato or cucumber that go soggy.

Thanks for the link, I must have missed that when I googled. I am going to try it tonight with a couple of sandwiches, have a trial run before the big day
