Samsung TV later model?
Zebb
05-05-2016
This TV seemed to suit all my needs except for twin tuner, Samsung UE22H5600 22" Smart Full HD TV, however one site said "This 2014 model has now been discontinued".

So, does anyone know what the new model is and the differences?
Thanks.

John Lewis also has it at the same price - I'd buy from them ahead of RS.

Need to know what the new one has before I go for a clearance priced old one.

I'm not that sure there is a newer version. If you go to the Samsung website (http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/t...o/televisions/) and filter the choices by screen size there are only two 22in models showing. The one you are looking at and a 22H5000 model which isn't a Smart TV. Though doesn't say if the 5600 is discontinued or not...

Unless "Few in stock" is Samsung code for "we don't make it anymore"

Not sure where the confusion is coming from.

Quote from the link in the first post;
"This 2014 model (Samsung UE22H5600) has now been discontinued and we've got no stock left. We're sorry, we can no longer provide you this set at the best price possible. Why not take a look at the 2015 replacement model instead?"

I'm asking if anyone knows the model number of the replacement model is so I can compare them.

There is nothing on the Samsung website to suggest there is a newer model. And if Samsung don't know what they make then who does?

People in the trade, rumour websites etc.

In theory if a 2015 version existed it would be a UE22J5600 but there is nothing returned by googling that. The only hits I can get are a couple of non-smart models UE22J5000 and UE22J5100. Neither of them seem to be on the Samsung website however.

...and web sites that purport to the lowest prices on any AV product never use vague filler language in the hope that you'll wait for their vapour-ware rather than buying the original model elsewhere.... yes, I am sure that never happens, hardly ever at all, perish the thought.... such honourable gentlemen every last one of them 😉

Update; This TV is no longer on the Samsung website and PCW/Currys have it on Clearance but cannot find it in any of their shops. Still no sign of any new one to replace it.

Wonder if the Currys stock even exists - not available for delivery and no where I have tried as a location has it in stock. More so the description they have of it is wrong as it is listed as being having a Freeview tuner not Freeview HD.

Also JL have sold out of the black ones, still have white £179.95 with a 5 year guarantee thrown in

Noticed that their is a usb update for it on Samsungs web site dated 30 May so its going to as up to date as anything bar some yet unknown new version (if there is one) with added features over and above what this one has

Reading the article its USA only where it happened so presumably not, but if they are on the way here then any new model will presumably have them,
