As its known DTC is leaving today what is your thoughts on his stories from the moment he started in 2013 to his final story.
Ive not been his biggest fan hes certainly improved Eastenders from Love and Warmth. But theres still been some negatives Over loaded with the Carters. Block Stories getting rid of Characters that had so much potential Lola. Also Long dragged out stories.
Some good though Jay finaly given a story Peggys final send off. The who shot Lucy was some top stuff even if the ending was a bit bizzare.

Cora on the Streets - while it highlighted the plight of an older person on the Street- there could have been more awareness about like an Interview with Ann and DTC.

The Lucy Storyline dragging on and on is the worse- its still not over.

Stacey and Shabnam's storyline was amazing.

Kathy;s comeback was poor and Paul Coker has failed miserably.

Who Killed Lucy
30th Anniversary Week
Johnny Coming Out
Dean raping Linda
Phils Alcoholism
Introduction of New Ben and his storylines
Kathy and Sharon's reunion
Janine's exit
Charlie's death
Kat visits the nunery
Stan's death
Carter Wedding (New Years Day 2016)
Ronnie and Charlies Wedding (New Years Day 2016)

Yes I think all the issue led storylines have been wonderful..

All the slightly ott and unrealistic ones have been the problem..

I am going to be different and say a storyline that I think was neither best or worst.
But Les's crossdressing storyline has been a disappointing and missed opportunity. I thought Christine was great in her appearance. She seemed like she could be one of EE's most promising female characters. I could easily imagine her sitting at The Albert and having a laugh with Sharon and Kim. But instead, they had Les kill Christine off in a brutal manner with fire.

I also think Cora's homeless storyline was a missed opportunity. We never found out why Cora ended up in the way she did. I personally think the death of stan sent her over the edge but it was still never addressed. Instead we had Cora stealing and hoarding herself in a garden shed. Before we knew it, Cora got a new flat somewhere over night and then an announcement that Cora would be taking a break for a while. It took ages to get going and yet it was over before going anywhere.

The worst storylines have been

Bobby the killer and all that's happened since.

Kathy return with all the Gavin nonsense and bland/non event reintroduction to the Square.

Dean rape storyline being dragged out so that he could be father to Jade (why?).

As for the good it's where he has written character driven storylines not plot driven.

As for the thing that he shouldn't be forgiven for is damage to Beales.

Best:

Stacey's psychosis.
Kat's visit to the convent.
Stan...everything about him with special mention to his dying episode.
Christine reveal.
Shab's stillbirth.
Martin/Stacey. Despite everything they make a fabulous couple.
Phil's alcoholism.
Honey's return. I've loved having her back on the show.
Linda's rape and Dean's eventual admission of his guilt.
The week of the 30th.
Nick's death.

Worst:

Post Bobby reveal....all those people agreeing to keep quiet.
Phil/Sharon/Shirley love triangle.
Ben being back in the closet.
Gavin....everything about him.
Kathy's return...completely lame.
Lola's exit and Charlie's exit.
Fats' death.

Highlights:

- The introduction of the Carters. We were in dire need of a new family and this lot hit the ground running. The Vic was brought back to life. Vital and signalled the start of a new era.

- The market. He has introduced lots of new characters to the market. The hustle and bustle that it was lacking.

- The sets. He got rid of all the awful interiors that his predecessors inflicted on us.

- New writers and directors. Behind the scenes has also been reinvigorated with new blood as well as the return of some old reliables like Phelps, Davidson, Richmond, Payne and Little.

- Recasts and returns. New Ben, Shabnam and Martin have been successful as well as improving the kiddies; Denny, Bobby, Amy. Many returns have also restored the family factor that was lacking.

- The shocks and surprises. You never quite knew what was coming next.

- KATHY. A risk that will pay dividends.

- EELiveWeek. Epic.

- Nick's death. Poetic.

- Carol's cancer. Beautifully portrayed. DTC at his best.

- The mystery and intrigue. Who killed Lucy? Charlie Cotton etc. Just a shame that they tended to lose their way.

- Stan's death. What a coup Timothy West was.

- Janine's exit. Loved that we got a trial too.

- Sharon. We finally caught glimpses of Sharon Watts. Love her as Ma Mitchell.

- Stacey's postpartum psychosis, Shabnam's stillbirth, Phil's alcoholism. Every character has had their moments to shine.

- Peggy and Grant will ensure he goes out on a high.

He hasn't been perfect but no one was or will ever be. He has been a great EP imo and his legacy will live on. (Not to forget his contributions under Santer)

Totally agree, lots of wasted potential in those two storylines (and in many more besides.)

My favourite has definitely been Johnny's coming out, just very well done, simple and straightforward and well acted from everyone involved. I've also enjoyed Nancy and Tamwar's romance, the initial Who Killed Lucy murder saga up until (and including) the reveal, Shabnam's stillbirth storyline, Stan's cancer/death and Carol's cancer, Mick learning to swim (a genuine feelgood storyline for once), Sharon and Phil's wedding week, Phil's alcoholism, Patrick's stroke, Claudette's 'death', Nasty Nick's return and death, and the market closure storyline. Also, not really a storyline but the general character arc for Babe.

I didn't enjoy Linda's rape storyline as it did a lot of damage to the Carter family (a case of too much, too soon), Alfie's financial worries, the aftermath of the Who Killed Lucy saga, the extremely silly Stacey/Kush affair resulting in Arthur's paternity reveal, the demise of Aleks and Charlie, and the slightly grubby STI drama (though I did enjoy the Abi/Babe partnership.)

Looking at that list I've enjoyed far more than I've disliked.

- The Carters (seriously go back to the end of Newman's time, these guys were needed and they worked. Which is extremely unusual for a new family)
- Lucy's Death
- 30th Live Week
- Shabnam's still birth
- The gradual transformation of Abi Branning into a psycho

Worst
- Kathy/Gavin
- Kat's secret son

I really like the Carters, and I don't think they are over used at all. I don't think they hog the limelight anymore than the Mitchells. They are a prominent family, as are several others also.

You've only got Mick, Linda, Jonny, Lee, Shirley, Buster, Tina and Babe. When we also had Stan, Sylvie, Tosh, Dean and Nancy, there was a lot of Carter involvement, but it has definitely been toned down this year.

They came in at a time when they were desperately needed, and storylines such as Jonny's coming out and the earlier stages of Linda's rape plot really showcased the talent within the carter family unit.

Interestingly, my favourite plots have been the ones that DTC initially proposed to the BBC when he was in talks to take on the job: the arrival of the Carters, Linda's rape, Carol's cancer, and Who Killed Lucy (everything up to the reveal anyway!). Live Week was a force to be reckoned with, it's a shame things slipped after that.

He's whole reign in general has been pretty good. Apart from live week to shabnams still birth where the show was just ticking over.

The only thing I was disappointed with was Lola's (lack of) exit.
