Played again last night and enjoyed it a bit more. I've just been avoiding vehicles for now. Quite like the spawn in from the overhead map. Reminds me of car game midnight club LA I think it was, where it zooms right in on the map til you appear on the ground.
Your player also appears to be better at jumping than he is in bf4. In bf4 you often get caught trying to jump a small fence etc. |

I don't really snipe in bf4. Mainly cause I'm crap at it. However it seems very easy in bf1 to rack up the kills as scout (sniper) so I'm a bit concerned everyone will snipe in bf1.

Has anyone on the insider programme received a code or anything yet? With it due to starry tomorrow I thought we'd have heard something by now.

Not so far for me. I'd probably expect them to appear tomorrow.

I'd be as well as buy all the Dlc anyway. I'm a bit annoyed atm over them breaking bf4 though. If they don't fix it I might not even get bf1.

I've been playing it for an hour or so on PC & while I like the way the game feel's & how the weapon's work & all that I am really not fond of the single map thats included (The desert one they showed off at Gamescom).
On Conquest it's massive but also rather barren & I feel like i've spent more time running to objectives across flat & featureless open ground than actually doing anything interesting as far as attacking/defending objectives or shooting at the other team. And on Rush it seems to quickly turn into a sniper-fest with whatever team spawn's on the high ground 1st able to pretty much dominate the match as there's not really any place to hide while still been able to defend the objectives for the team below. That been said I am still enjoying it as the way the guns, movement & overall game feels are what you would expect from Battlefield.... Guns are a bit slower & less accurate than the more recent games but it still feels like BF. |

I actually had zero expectations going into this, because I thought everyone had hyped it to high heaven and that of course meant it was going to be poor by everyone's standards.
But I must say the few matches I've had have been the most fun I've had with a Battlefield game since Battlefield 1943. The map gives a great sense of scope while also being quite self-contained, and whilst I admit it is a bit barren with what is essentially a desert taking up the east side of the map, I thought it was great fun when I found someone else out in the desert and we had our own self-contained shoot-em-up fight. The planes are also significantly easier to fly than any other Battlefield imo, still quite hard to get perfectly right, but the most exciting bit of the alpha so far had to be when I shot someone else out of the sky. Also love the horses, they're great fun. Other than that, it's pretty much Battlefield-By-Numbers. So will I get it at launch? Probably not, I don't want to risk paying full price for a Battlefield game again and have it become boring after the first weeks as I found 3, 4 and Battlefront to be. But yeah, colour me impressed, I like it more than I thought I would. |

My first impressions are good too, it's definitely a must buy. The moment the sand storm hit was pretty crazy but good.

I've only managed a couple of rounds so far, but I enjoyed it. The sound was epic.
Most embarrassing moment... Killed by... Horse!!! I won't feel bad about seeing 'horse wounded' come up on screen again! |

It's quite good and I was in the alpha with a different map but I do worry about sniping. Particularly on an open map like that. It's also very easy. So much that I can do it.

How do you use the flamethrower? I found it by B and auto equipped my gas mask. I pressed L2 to aim, R2 to fire but nothing was happening & then I got killed

I'm quite enjoying it at the moment. The tanks are powerful as they should be, it looks like the number one rule of tank warfare in WW1 was "make sure you are in a tank!"
One of the rounds on rush I carried the small Renault tank right to the last point, incidently my gf who knows nothing about WW1 said when she heard the engine "is that a Renault?" she says it sounds just like her old Renault 4! There were far too many snipers on the other team which made it easy for me. Having said that, I have also been blown up quickly sometimes too. I've had one quick go in a plane and it does seem more friendly than flying in BF4. The graphics look lovely on the PS4. |

I still need to alter my setup as just jeep playing standard assault just now. An awful lot of scope glints on the battlefield though.
