Going to wait for a sale before I get this. Hopefully most of the wannabe snipers will have moved on by then.

How's online holding out? A glitchy lag fest or pretty stable

It's stupid! In a team of 4 but 3 are snipers!!!
So it's still just like the beta then as far as snipers are concerned? I was so hyped for this game as I am really interested in the time period and know quite a lot about WW1. My grandfather served in Palestine and I was really looking forward to it all. Now I am so glad I gave it a miss for the time being. I may pick it up when some of the dust has settled and it comes down in price, but some of the gameplay I have seen doesn't give me a lot of incentive to take the plunge.

The sand storm on the beta map is pretty severe. Would give the snipers a problem I think.

Not tried MP yet but liking the SP. The tank mission alone is better than anything CoD has offered in years. I'm taking my time, not finished it yet and it's killed a couple of hours.

I never had any problems with sniper in the beta. Sure, I got killed by a couple but they mainly stay in the same place, they're easy to counter. I was going to get the digital version but got disc version for £33 last night off of Facebook

I hit level 13 last night purely playing Conquest.

Opinions so far :

- Snipers aren't to much of an issue. If people are only interested in their K/D ratio then playing a camping sniper is fine, but they'll never be high on the scoreboards.

- Medics are probably a little overpowered right now. The heal/revive is always going to be extremely powerful (rightly so). But their guns could maybe do with being toned down, they have the best mid distance guns in the game.

- Supports are probably the weakest class. Supplying ammo in the game isn't huge important, I'm not sure i've ever run out of ammo yet. The addition of supplying grenades however is great. Then you have the choice of 3 other gadgets which aren't all that great - Mortar can be useful, but never quite feels as powerful as it should. Limpet Mines are fun, but vehicles aren't a prominent in BF1 as other BF's (and the assault class has better alts to limpet mines). Repair tool is pretty pointless in my opinion. But the worst thing about the Support class is the gun - LMG's are a bit powerpuff on damage and suffer massive accuracy penalties.

- Assault is all about close range and blowing stuff up. It's the only class i've not played so can't comment to much.

Overall i'm enjoying it. Not so keen on the open maps, their is one desert one that I really dislike.

Been bouncing between MP and SP on this and am loving it.

I do miss some of the modern weaponry that I've become accustomed to in BF2,3,4 etc, but overall gameplay feels good. I've enjoyed using the horses, great for getting to objectives in Rush, but am yet to try out the planes.

I was surprised by the level of emotion evident in the SP. It feels like although they are making money out of war, they realised that some respect had to be shown in the tone etc. It has at points felt like a real assault on my senses both visually and when the sound is turned up.

My two gripes so far are the loading time between games and trying to find the quit button on the menu when a game has finished.

I'm impressed enough to have shelled out (pun intended) on Premium already in anticipation of the extra maps and content to come.

There are periods of weather and other events that makes near impossible to snipe for entire match.

Horse rider and tank can be very frustrating to be up agsinst, multiple death can be expected.
Again as with many BFs, it takes some time getting used too. Really not instant gratification series.
Cover run prone run cover is the order of staying alive for a bit.
The balance is just about right, however it's hell getting to a good experience there is some luck involved, however I suppose that's authenticity the developers are trying to convey.
I have Moved on from Conquest to the Operations mode, its jolly good fun. Very similar to MAG on the ps3.

Quite enjoying this. I've got better using single fire weapons rather than spraying bullets. Also switched over to medic, although it's a bit of a bummer if you come face to face with a tank when you've got a syringe.
I've yet to play cq on the forest map. I only briefly got on that in tdm but looks nice.

This took a few sessions to get used to it, but now feels as natural as any other BF game I've played. A nice mix of maps and classes allows for different styles of play.

Hoping they can improve load times though - I'm doing my ironing in between games

I find it really odd you can't change and alter your loadout from the menu, you have to do it during the game - Unless I'm missing something? (PS4 version).

Yeah was annoying that in bf4 too rocketpop. best bet if you can is alter your setup on the battlefield app on phone/tablet etc. But agree....bit of a pain that.
Ps you can also create yourself an emblem in the app via multiple layers

The desert map is a spawn killers' paradise.

Annoying to say the least.

The campaign is a significant improvement on BF4. Actually enjoyed working my way through it and doing all the codex entries (although a few are a serious pain), rather than grinding through it for the sake of it.

I've always considered the campaign elements of equal importance. Sure you get your moneys worth out of the multiplayer, but the game would feel shallow without the campaign.

I've found with this latest one that I keep stopping to take in the scenery and strangely I try not to destroy the villages if I can help it - seems disrespectful. I've not felt quite that level of empathy to an NPC environment in a game before.

On the tank missions, as that's as far as I've went, I initially go for stealthy, but inevitably at some point all hell would break out when I would get caught.

Looks like I won't get to complete campaign as cannot stand the flying bit. I had been following plane for yonks with guns disarmed apparently but it seemed never ending til I crashed.

Apparently in the next update this is going to change. They will implement 5 flags.

Question: is anyone having problems with their headsets/Microphones on this? I join a squad but no one seems to speak to one another. Its really important in this game to speak and to work as a team.
I'm actually wondering now if its my headset that's broken or even the in-game mechanism to speak to one another in squads.

I don't know what system you play on, but I'm on PS4 and no one talks.
