I think she's brilliant and adds a bit of humour to some rather dull episodes

Im undecided. Sometimes she does add funny/clever remarks that I think are really good, but absolutely at other times the things she says are too rude or adult for a young girl to be saying to her family and its unrealistic. Once she's a teenager I could see this working well, but they should still keep it a little bit more innocent until then.

Don't agree.

How is she a better actress than Tracyluv?

Agreed. Particularly the name in bold. Ozzy the dog puts in a better performace than her.

But I still think that Amy is a precocious brat.

the way she delivers her lines reminds me of vikki the robot from 1980's sitcom small wonder.

What does everyone think of Amy's sort-of blackmailing Michelle into letting her stay with her and Steve? Holding Will over her head, so to speak.

How old is this kid meant to be again?

I would like to see Amy have a friend of her own age to hang out with. Dev's little girl would be about the same age and I think she would be a good influence on Amy.

Lol she's a much better actress than Tracey who is so stiff and wooden in comparison.

She's written far too over-the-top. All she does is sit and make judgemental comments about those around her. It's almost like they want her to be Blanche, but have forgotten the main reason Blanche was able to get away with it was her age and the fact she had a less cruel side that should come out occasionally. Whilst I don't expect Tracy to be the perfect mother, given she's a woeful human being, you'd at least expect to try and instill some manners and decorum in her child! None of this takes away from the actress, who does a good job.

I'm not knocking the actress at all, she seems very competent, I just find the material strange for her age.”

Totally agree. The writers don't seem to have the first clue as to how children speak and behave. Simon anyone?

Load of nonsense. We had this recently with her blackmailing Liz and Ken's girlfriend Nessa and getting money or clothes for her silence. Watching these adults being blackmailed by a kid is just ridiculous, and no one tries to punish Amy for it or tell her how wrong it is.

Every scene with Amy is her acting like a brat, and personally her acting isn't even that great. Again Corrie have seen her lines as great, so are going to constantly beat us over the head with it and it is getting boring.

And we are meant to believe she is disgusted with Tracy's actions and how cruel she is, yet at the same time is blackmailing Michelle and has shown amusement at Tracy's schemes in the past.

And the writers believing she is the next Blanche just goes to show how deluded they are behind the scenes.

I don't think the character is too over the top, but I think it's clear the girl who plays her knows the storyline too much in advance. So when Will came to the Rovers, she knows before the scene is filmed that he is the person Michelle has been seeing and "acts" suspicious. She talks to him differently because the girl playing Amy has been told he is the "other man".

The girl who plays her is still too young to have any subtlety playing those scenes. She obviously knows Will is the "bad guy" and talks to him like that, whereas in real life a girl her age would just invite him in to the house if he was Michelle's friend without that delivery.

In real life, one would hope that a 12 year old would not invite any stranger into the house. I can't remember, but was the place empty at the time? I was quite shocked at Corrie showing that, as though it were the natural thing to do.

It was a nice change last night to see Amy recognizing that people might not like her if she ends up too much like her mum. I hope it sticks in her mind for a while, the character could do with some toning down.

This is what I don't get with any of the children in Corrie they don't have any friends of their own age they all just seem to hang around with the adults in their family it is so unnatural for a child to do that, where are all their school friends?

Aldi and Asda must, since they're always off on a sleepover whenever the plotline demands it. And they go off together - which is a bit weird, really.

She's another horrifically rude bad mannered brat in need of a god slap. Her lines are ridiculous and unrealistic, the actress isn't great and the term 'trying too hard' comes to mind. The old mute Amy who was carried around by Steve everywhere was much more bearable.

I doubt the writers will follow up on it. Like Tracy she will just revert back to normal and continue being a smart arsed brat.

Agree with this. And this version of Amy wasn't a rude, cocky brat until two years ago when the producer decided to give her a personality transplant.

She would have got a damn good slap & sent home if she'd been my daughter, instead of Tracy just sitting there smirking about it!!

She's 12 FFS!! I dread to think what I'd have got for being that rude to a guest at 12 years old, not that I would have felt any inclination to be that rude in the first place, horrible brat!!!!!

I felt really sorry for him, Amy and Tracy were both vile.

I created a similar thread a while ago regarding the actress and I'm still surprised to see so many praising her as 'wonderful'!!

I get that she's a child so I don't expect an Oscar worthy performance but I genuinely find her delivery to be terrible! I do not like the character and I think that its partly because of the actress.

I agree with the above that Devs kids are really natural. I'd even remark that the actress playing Faye is more natural than she who plays Amy IMO.

Absolutely agree Craig!! Her Tracy type lines are delivered in a very robotic way & when she tried to do those emotonal scenes a couple of weeks ago it was just awful!!
All I ask of the child actors is to be natural, that way they remain believable, the girl who plays Amy is neither!!
Faye I have no problem with, Simon likewise & as you say Dev's kids are very natural!! Young Liam is not great yet but he's getting there at least & is very young yet!! Hope he does improve as looks wise I find him very realistic to be Maria's son!!
