Has anyone attended their local comic book shop to collect their free comics today?

I went to my local Forbidden Planet to pick up my order of comics and got some free comics as well as a free Dancing Groot as I spent over £10

The guy who worked behind the counter said it was quieter than pervious years as he said about one year when they had 200 people queuing outside waiting for the shop to open!

Anyway did anyone else attend free comic day or was it just me?

Glad to hear that I wasn't the only one but was there a free Captain America one as well as the free Civil War 2 one?

OK Comics in Leeds was as busy as always. Queued for over an hour to get my freebies. One year, I hope to do it without a shocking hangover.

Amongst the smattering of cosplayers, my winners were the Teen Wolf guy and a kid who was a spot on Dipper Pines.

My 15 year old went with his friends to our local comic shop today - it's a shop he goes to regularly and he said it was pretty busy today. He managed to get Doctor Who and Sonic The Hedgehog comics.

Glad to hear that he got some comics in the end if it was that busy!

Seems quite a few shops were busy but I wonder if it helps their business overall having these days?

Nothing really caught my eye. To be honest.

In order to avoid pandemonium, every was given a back of the free comics at the door.

So, I ended up with all sorts that I would never usually read. Archie was OK, but its not something I'm ever gonna feel compelled to follow up on.

That is a problem that people end up with lots of comics that they will never read!

Well I didn't end up with the Marvel Captain America comic as I didn't see it and asked a few members of staff about Marvel Comics but was told Civil War 2 was the only one!

I prefer to swap most of the free comics I've got yesterday for that issue!
