BGT 2016: Worst series yet?

I don't know if I'm the only one here but I think this series is turning out to be one of the worst yet.

Half acts shown aren't from Britain, judges and hosts seem way OTT especially Amanda. Letting weird and rubbish acts used to be funny but it's just annoying now.

90% of all acts are awful or just odd, and it seems desperate for them to let them all through. Worst golden buzzers ever, all but one are singers. That's another point too, theirs so many singers... Its a variety show and surprisingly there isn't much variety.

The editing is messed up and the show is such a drag now. I think the show has reached its peak of the last 5 years and if change doesn't come I reckon it will drop.

These types of threads are more boring than the series by far.
We get this "Worst series ever" thread every bleeding year!!

This is what I, as a BGT superfan HATE to see.

If you have anything negative to say, keep it to yourselves.

You do know you can choose to ignore 'negative' posts like this don't you? The intent of the thread is illustrated perfectly in the title so you could easily have chosen to ignore it.

You all fail to see the irony in you telling people not to be negative and then telling people to 'get a life'. Very positive! Grow up.

Please don't talk to me like that!!

I'm just trying to defend BGT, which is far from boring and is still making a decent profit for ITV.

All this hatred is a disgrace.

So it's acceptable for you to call other people names but not for me to tell you to grow up. Get back into reality, please.

You have a right to defend what you like, but other people are entitled to have a different view and to express it. I'm sure that ITV is very happy it helps them turn a profit, but that doesn't mean that what is produced is fantastic or even good.

From what I've seen, it's not great. I've watched worse things, but the editing is messy, too much bouncing around between act, judges and audience. I don't want to be guided by what a couple of people in the audience are thinking. In fact, this will have the opposite reaction to the one that the producers want. You can't create a 'star' organically if you guide people in such an obvious way. It makes people cynical. I'm not talking about people on these boards, they are already cynical. I'm talking about the general public.

Tbh,without using a PVR the show is becoming one long drawn out tedious bore.

All I want to see is the acts with a few pertinent comments fro the Judges.

I do not want to see Amanda, who despite her age, continues to try to act like a teenager.

I do not want to see the bovine Walliams or his asinine smirks,

I certainly don't want to see or hear any more sob storesies.

I most certainly want to see a random selection of cutaway shots of the audience, often from a different venue/audition and who have nothing to do with entertainment.

I want to see the acts. Good. Bad. Indifferent.

Is that too much to ask?

Certainly living up to your name, aren't you Alan???

I am not really bothered about all the small things that a lot of people on this forum complain about (i.e. the "too much singers" crap and the "editing"). I just watch it to entertain myself and it certainly entertains me. I don't care how many singers audition or how the show is edited. It is a show that was supposed to be a FUN, LIGHT-HEARTED FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT show and all these people are taking it WAY too seriously!!!

People are so negative these days it's unreal.

Why because they don't agree with everything you two say?

Some people need to take a chill pill. And to appreciate that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Sadly you're right.

Because the amount of negativity on this forum is so depressing and boring. Everyone should understand that it is only an entertainment show and it shouldn't be taken seriously.

Yes, the ones that are giving a light-hearted family show such underserved hate. Those who take it so seriously.

There's no need for all this unnecessary backlash.

There is so much negativity on the Britain's Got Talent forum it's unreal.

I don't see how this is the worst series so far. The acts have been great in my opinion. Last week and the week before wasn't AS good, but not every episode is going to contain acts everyone likes.

The show is still perfectly watchable in my opinion. To answer your question, no. 2011 was the worst series so far.

FINALLY!!!

At least there's someone who's post I can agree with.

yeah I think it is the worst and the viewing figures back this up given that it went to just under 9 million last night nowhere near the 10 million its used to

Trust me, there have been worse shows than this series.

I'm sure the ratings will go back up soon, just be positive and don't ever focus on the negatives.

BGT still has a massive fanbase and the ratings can go up and down sometimes. But it still was the highest-rated show of the night and the week so that's a win.

Last night's episode had a few issues but overall I think this has been one of the strongest series in a while. I do have issues with the editing - switching to randoms in the judges, Ant and Dec, the judges unnecessarily so we miss parts of the acts - and the favouritism towards singers but, in general, it's been enjoyable.

Woah, to the people giving hate, I still love the show and have been watching it for years but it all seems annoying and desperate now and I've seen others commenting about it elsewhere. It's still fun, but on a serious note it's becoming a head ache. It had a brilliant start but talent is decreasing and judges are becoming predictable.

Whilst the ratings are good, they're comparable to XFactors 2013 series which was deemed a flop and if they ignore small comments now, who knows what to expect next year?

The live shows are going to be 99% foreign acts and singers and they'll be a time when the ratings eventually naturally drop that they'll have to re establish this...

And no I'm not aware that many people say this, I'm new to forums, but at least I learnt a lesson - don't be honest to mostly biased people. The show isn't perfect and even a 'super fan' should have constructive advise for it.

I am enjoying the series. I like the judges banter, and find some of the silly acts funny, but you are right, the number of foreigners is ridiculous now. I would rather see more British acts on, as that is the title of the show.

It kinda sounds like you're taking the criticism a bit too seriously, if anything. Besides, it's not a fan forum. Both positive and negative views are welcome. And if the show is as you say one of ITV's biggest earners, then surely it can stand up to criticism. They're hardly going to get rid of their cash cow based on what a bunch of random, anonymous people have to say on the Internet.

Criticism usually implies some sort of reasoned argument or response with reference to its' object.

Just typing " worst ever" is not in and of itself a paticularly cogent aesthetic articulation.

It's just a cyber-whinge.

...and I have been consistently entertained by this series, with its' variety and quality.
So there.

To all of those people moaning about people moaning about the show, well, if you don't like it, either create a positive thread or don't bother reading at all, it really is that simple. It's better than making yourselves look like hypocrites by adding to the moaning. If people have a problem with the show and they want to say something about it, then who are you to tell them that they can't do that ?

I'm not sure if it's the worst series but the show is definitely in a slump right now and it's been that way for some time. The lack of talent and so much filler is making the show boring.
