iPhone SE battery seems pretty good

Oh I thought you were agreeing with the OP around the SE lasting over six days between charges. Not something I am aware of the 6s being able to do.

However if you weren't agreeing then no problem, I was just unclear what it is you were saying, although not for the first time. Unless it was your usual off topic defend Apple posts which appear still in every Apple thread regardless of the actual topic.

No worries.

The OP didn't say it lasted over six days between charges.

I was agreeing that battery life on the SE was very good.

I don't see how that was unclear, what it is supposed to be defending, or how it is off topic.

Perhaps you could explain?

Sorry if my maths is bad 3 days with over 50% left equates to over 6 days between charges does it not?

My simple point was with a new efficient CPU in an old power friendly phone shows what can be achieved if true. Then we had your usual hysterical accusations of explain, what do you mean, same phone as the 6s ......

If so I wondered why the 6s didn't seem to get 6 days between charges if you think they are virtually the same.

Sorry, you're quite right with the 50% thing.

With you, its never a simple point though - its usually a point laden in sarcasm and a thinly veiled did at something, often for no apparent reason.

I will repeat my point from other thread, because again I have no idea what your point was or is, so bizarre. You just must defend Apple regardless of facts of context of thread to the point where you do yourself no favours.

Comparing battery life on anecdotal evidence is pointless. Without an app running to monitor all usage, screen on time, ambient temperature, screen brightness then we can't really compare.

CP is right that modern chipsets consume less power (and generate less heat) and that"s a good thing, but there are still things that haven't improved that much. A SE being heavily used is going to be at the mercy of the battery and its overall capacity. Up that and you can really extend the battery life, while still letting people use something normally.

All day battery life is quoted by all manufacturers as if there's a recognised standard. I can safely say that my mum will last a few days with her Galaxy S6, but for other people it's quite clear the phone battery is poor at best.

My wife can go from 6.30am to bedtime without charging her Nexus 6P. I'm often topping up early afternoon. Her screen on time will be 1-2 hours, mine 5-6. She'll be checking Facebook, I'll be taking photos.

Exactly you put a modern Samsung cpu and battery in a galaxy s2 I bet you would be amazed at the battery life you get.

Although purely anecdotal, my usage has remained broadly consistent between having the 5S and the SE, and the battery consistently lasts much longer. Part of that will be due to the 5S battery being 2.5 years old, but even so it seems much improved.

Its got nothing to do with defending Apple, and everything to do with calling you on your endless stream of pointlessly sarcastic posts.

I suppose that's the great thing about sarcasm, when you get called on it you can lay on the faux outrage and make out that you were only ever being sincere.

Unfortunately your posting history gives you away every time, and people see straight through it.

To call the poster a troll would be an insult to trolls.

That's probably true, but he only comes on this forum to post nonsense in any Apple related thread he can find, so what else can he be called?

Coo, I've just come back on here (been v busy with the tech job I am doing in Africa having posted that on the flight out) and can't believe what a meal Mr Sword has made of it. It was just a genuine throw away line, totally anecdotal based upon a sample of one, but as I said, pretty impressed by the thing.

Plus, the smaller screen only has 20% the pixels of the
top phablets. So it has far less power needs all round.

GSMARENA give it an endurance rating of 73hrs, not a million miles away from my trusty LG G2 81 hrs rating.

Of course the SE is going to last longer than the 5S, it has a bigger battery, more efficient A9 chip, 6S's more efficient LTE Modem, 6S's more efficient radio (transceiver) system, it has the same energy and heat reduction chip as on the 6S and far more efficient amps and sound chips than the 5S. The 6s more efficient motion sensing system, Slightly better Wifi chip, although lacking 1000mAh over the 6S. mostly the smaller screen size (basically the same screen and touch system as 5S) make up for that when in use. Both in battery drain and also the amount of pixels the system is having to drive (so less GPU, CPU and memory stress, less heat etc etc etc). It is due to that last bit that you might find in some circumstances the SE may outlast a 6S battery wise.
