Helen looked gorgeous as did both Tess and Claudia - I love the friendship between those two. I wasn't too keen on Caroline's outfit

The thing I like about Helen and Fearn Cotton, they wear outfits to suit their personalities and they looked gorgeous. Agree about Caroline, I think she is too short for those kind of outfits,

I really liked Georgia's dress and overall styling last night. The comments I'm reading in newspaper comments this morning about her weight are out of order, she looks healthy and glowing.




Helen looked absolutely beautiful, glamorous yet natural at the same time. I liked the print on her dress. I also liked Georgia's vampish styling though and her dress was just gorgeous, loved the intricate embellishments.

Alesha looked amazing though I do prefer her hair dark. And I sympathise with Caroline as if I attended a red carpet event that would be me, tripping over my dress on the red carpet

Are they saying she's overweight? That's ridiculous. The last I read she was saying she'd lost weight ... I can't keep up!

To be honest, I prefer Alesha's hair darker as well - it's just that she is so lovely she can never look bad - just slightly less good. I think she's like Helen in that respect. Couldn't you just hate them

Agreed. To say she is overweight is ridiculous at best and downright dangerous at worst. I am sure young actresses such as Georgia are tough enough to take the criticism (or sensible enough to ignore/not read it) but I agree with you that the really worrying aspect is the effect this has on young girls. If they are being told that Georgia is overweight then God only knows what this doing to their self esteem.

However, Georgia has been universally told how gorgeous she looked last night - just one nasty remark in the comments section of the Mail and picked up by our appreciation thread and remarked on ... Making a mountain out of what was not even a mole hill.

We know how pathetic these people are who comment on stories in the Daily Fail - no one with half a brain is being anything but complimentary on Georgia's appearance at the BAFTAs.

She looked stunning as did all the other 'Strictly' ladies.

I wouldn't know, I would have to be seriously bored/in need of winding myself up to bother looking at the readers' comments. When I've looked at them in the past they are made up of trolls/nutters and apparently extremely small children (or at least those of an equivalent reading age). I don't think anyone in their right mind really takes them seriously and I would hope that Georgia or anyone in the public eye would have the sense not to go there.

Ha ha I know, I'm covered in dust, packing boxes and looking at photos of all these Strictly ladies looking gorgeous in beautiful gowns I love it though, on Oscars night I look for the dresses before the results

Yes comments that Georgia is overweight which are ridiculous. Her dress was cut to show her curves and she looked stunning. I've also read the opposite about Kara, that she is too thin and looks ill which is firstly untrue and should also be off limits.

My eldest is about to turn 13, at a very sensitive age and I get cross with anyone who comments that she's too thin, she's just shooting upwards at the moment.

A bit confused by this ... I have no idea what's been said in your app thread, I'd seen a handful of comments on the DM site, also about Kara, and thought how out of order it was. I left a comment last night about Georgia's dress being one of my favourites and there are beautiful photos on other sites too.

Agree with you Lou about not taking the SOS too seriously. The DM is brilliant for red carpet photos though.

I'm afraid female celebrities seem to be fair game for "anything goes" kind of comments about their appearance. As we know the Mail is bad enough for its "pert posterior" and "showcasing of side boobs" reporting but at least they are governed by some form of regulation about what can and can't be said. I'm very boring (moi?) about social media but I really do think celebrities should ask someone else to manage their accounts for them unless they can completely detach from the cyber trolls and who, realistically, can say hand on heart they don't care what people say about them? You can tell yourself someone is a troll but it still must hurt to read some of the bile. Caroline is one who reacts and my heart sinks when I read it and I do wonder why she does it to herself.

It definitely has the best photos and (with my other face on) if you're in the mood for more salacious details on any current scandals then it's the go to rag

A lot of people seem to think it's fine to call someone too thin, who would probably never call someone too fat. I had a friend at school who ate like a horse but was really thin and people upset her by commenting on it all the time in a way they never would have with an overweight teenager. I don't know if it's the obesity crisis in this country, but some people seem to have forgotten that people can be naturally slim and small boned and still perfectly healthy.

Nobody can win with DM commenters - they call people too thin until they put on weight, then they get called too fat. They have a go at people for ageing, then when they are finally driven to Botox or whatever they are called too plastic. I certainly couldn't handle being a celeb.

I would hope that most celebrities know to stay well away from the DM comments and although I'm sure they are wise enough to pay the comments no mind, I think they'd have to be made of stone to not be disheartened (at the least) at such nasty comments. We've had hints before that Georgia may not be as tough as some and she's said before that some comments do upset her but thankfully she has plenty of people around her, that I'm sure have told her how ridiculous the comments are and tons of adoring fans who are only too quick to assure her otherwise. Like you say, the worrying thing is the effect this will have on people who maybe don't have the support network that Georgia does. As you said, if Georgia is being described as over weight, then God help the impressionable young girls reading that!!
