I think Mick needs a storyline that is just his. He is always involved with other characters yet he is the only Carter that hasn't really had his own storyline. I hope we get to see more of this Jack/Mick friendship we have been promised.

Well, I suppose you could argue that his parentage was his own storyline, but yes, all in all I agree. Danny is incredibly capable and I'd like to see the family rally around him, rather than him them. In fairness he is the one that keeps them all together and you can tell he absolutely adores each and every one of them.

Oh, and let's not forget the swimming storyline. Epicness that was all about Mick!

I'm not a huge fan after the rape plot. The family has too many complicated lies in such a short space of time. I liked him and them better when Stan Carter was alive.

This. Have him killed off in a fire so Linda and he don't split up. Also make sure Elaine is in the blaze and maybe Mo, Sharon, Christian, Linda Clarke and Jane too.

Perhaps they will revisit the unquestionable fact that he is a violent, lying, convicted whoremongerer.

I like seeing him outside the family, it just doesn't happen often enough. His scene with Ian the other day where he kept slamming the car door was great.

BIB Yes, whatever happened to that.

I would like to see more of Mick outside the Carters. Why not give him more scenes with characters like Stacey, Martin, Sharon, Phil, Kathy, Ronnie and Jack, for example? Mick doesn't have any friends (please correct me if I'm wrong). When Linda leaves EastEnders for a bit (Kellie's maternity leave), they need to give him something to do, in my opinion.

Yeh the Ian scenes were good.

Mick and Jack could have a whole episode just talking about Ronnie and Linda and how they've coped with everything they've been through - the baby swap, Linda's rape etc.

True but why Mick needed that moment of glory now and all those years ago wasn't needed. He was shoehorned and gave the impression that he saved the day.

Talking Ian Beale round to let Bobby Beale go. Or even finding out about what Ian "knew" on the night of her reveal.

They've been close friends for years now. With Alfie gone he's probably his best friend. He took the blame for Ian being with Raine.

He has his family and even Phil Mitchell. Again it was to to shoehorn him into the biggest plot in DTC's time as producer. They hadn't been friends before that though...

Every other Carter is inextricably tied with Mick, rather than their own character:
Linda is Mick's wife, Johnny is Mick's gay son, Lee is Mick's depressed son, Nancy is Mick's daughter, Shirley is Mick's mum. They're all suffering from having Mick too involved in their stories, but at the same time, Mick also, apart from learning how to swim, doesn't have his own stories. I think he needs to have a story separate from the rest of the Carters, and they need to have some separate from him

Phil Mitchell is a fair weather friend and a manipulator. And family is family.

They had...Ian taught him to swim. It isn't shoehorning when characters become friends otherwise you could say that about everyone on the show at one time or another. If anything Mick needs more friends, but that goes for a lot of characters.

I think it was set up because they knew what was coming up and wanted the Carters to be involved in the "WHO Killed Lucy Beale" saga in some way. Even Lee Carter was accused.

I don't think Ian and Mick are friends now but they were 'pals' after Lucy's death. I remember the swimming pool scene and Mick was there for Ian as a confidante and he helped Mick with his swimming. However, when Mick was arrested, I think he washed his hands of Ian. I preferred Alfie and Mick's friendship.

Nearly every single family were involved in the who killed Lucy plot...Jake Stone, the Brannings, the Mitchells, Denise and Patrick, Sharon, the Masoods, Whitney, the Cokers, Jay. The Carter involvement was relatively minor.
