Also with it's 4x weakness to Ground hopefully it learns at least one type coverage move. |

Ohhh another bug Pokemon! My favourite type. Good to see them getting decent new additions!
Not sure how I feel about Bewear, though. ![]() Hyper training looks like a new way to train your Pokemon's IV stats instead of trying to hatch the perfect IV Pokemon. Great to see them adding new ways of getting the perfect Pokemon! |

Poor Alolan Ninetales it has a four times weakness to steel and poor Alolan Sandslash it has a four times weakness to fighting.

The Alola forms just smacks of "Welp, you guys only care about Gen 1 Pokémon anyway, so screw it! Here's repainted/reworked versions of them"
Not a fan of that, at all. Although I will admit Ice/Steel Sandslash is very cool, but the others are awful, especially Exeggcutor. I dread to think what the other Pokémon due an "Alola form" are going to look like, I really hope they don't butcher some of my old favourites just for the sake of having a novel concept. As for the actual new Pokémon designs, I'm sorry, I just don't like any of them with the exception of Litten and Rowlett, they all seem so half-baked this gen, it's bizarre, normally by now Pokémon generations have at least 4 Pokémon you think "Yeah, yeah I'll be using that in my team for sure!" but with this game, I have 1 starter and Sandslash and then 4 slots that I'll probably fill with Pokémon I'm completely indifferent too. Really hope they start pulling out all the stops soon. Also 4 "totem Pokémon", and 4 Shaymin? See this is the worrying part for me. 4 + 4 = 8, and in all the previous games there were 8 gyms (apart from Gen II when you could revisit Kanto bringing the grand total up to 16 but I digress), if this game is ditching gyms all together and replacing them with 4 glorified trainer battles (and bizarre fetch quests?) and 4 glorified Pokémon battles (with nothing else added) then that, to me, is *highly* concerning. My hype for this game has dwindled significantly with this trailer alone, but I do admit the Alola Forms has elicited morbid curiosity out of me, so there's that, at least... |

I wonder how Alolan Vulpix will evolve into Alolan Ninetales now? As I doubt it will be a fire stone with the new typing.

Just realized Alola Ninetales surely must mean Alola Arcanine is a thing as well, as Ninetails was to Pokemon Blue what Arcanine was to Pokemon Red.
If they can pull off a cool type swap I'll be hyped, though I'm worried they may mess up one of the coolest pokemon ever. |

Who would have thought 20 years later Exeggutor would be trending on Twitter

I wonder if Alolan Growlithe/Arcanine (if it does happen) will go the same route (as Alolan Vulpix/Ninetales) of being Growlithe being only one type and Arcanine being duel type?

I just hope it isn't Ice/Fairy like Ninetails, something more like Electric/Dark would do me nicely.

Presumably it would be Ice/Electric or Ice/Dark?
![]() It's stupid though, because now you have the old Ninetails who can quite easily dispatch the new Ninetails, because fire is obviously super-effective against ice. Meanwhile the new Sandslash can completely destroy the old Sandslash with no bother at all because ice trumps rock/ground. I really do think it's a bit daft that they're making these alternative forms super effective or weak to their original forms, they should really have picked new typings that don't have any bearing on the respective original types of these Pokémon, not a "reversal" type. Exeggutor with dragon - as utterly non-sensical as it is - at least doesn't make one Exeggutor vastly superior to the other. |

Have just seen a leak that seems to be confirmed because said leak occurred days ago and contains a lot of information the new trailer confirmed
Anyway, won't delve too much into some of the more surprising elements that got leaked, but will just say that Arcanine WILL be getting an alternative form... which is water type... ![]() ![]() ![]() Also as-of-yet-to-be-confirmed set up to have alternate forms are: Caterpie, Metapod and Butterfree Rattata and Raticate The Nidorans, Nidorino and Nidorina, Nidoking and Nidoqueen Abra, Kadabra and Alakazam Doduo and Dodrio ...as well as many more Pokémon who the leaker decided not to name-and-shame, this also includes Pokémon from other generations as well, so expect a massive, massive overhaul for many of the 'mons we already know and love (to varying degrees) I, for one, will not go near this thing if they dare mess up my buddy Nidoking ![]()

I really like the concept of Alola form Pokemon.
It makes sense that a Ninetales for example, forced to survive in a icy setting, would adapt to its environment over time. Just how over many millions of years species on Earth have adapted to new settings (evolution). I hope there are not too many of these forms, and that each new region (generation of Pokemon) introduces just a handful of these new forms. It is a cool quirk. The Exeggutor memes though
