Well that depends who her real Dad is, doesn' t it? But as I don' t know what the big secret is ( if it exists)I can' t comment on why it would be worse, but I' m sure there are plenty of reasons. Perhaps her real father' s dead or in prison? Maybe he was a one night stand and untraceable? Maybe he' s Lawrence' s brother? Who knows?

I' m just trying to make the point that there seems to be a lot more to come. For some reason Lawrence was able to reveal that he was not her father, but there' s some reason he wants to hold back the identity of her real dad. It could be, plain and simple, that he sees himself as her dad and doesn' t want her to track down the other man, possibly he doesn' t know his identity, or there could be some deeper reason and he doesn' t want to drag it up.

I was speechless at that! In fact I had to rewind my recording to make sure I heard right. It just seemed to come out of nowhere! Her father was pleading his undying love for her, how she was always his yet she came out with THAT?!?!! I bloody loved Andy in that moment (and I've never sat that before!). He was the only one really who could give her it straight and know exactly what he was talking about. He gave her the vocal equivalent of a bloody good shake and I thoroughly enjoyed the pampered Princess being told off!

Well if this is the case and donor sperm was used then they were anonymous in those days and she'll have no hope of finding out whose genes she's carrying other than things like ethnicity, height, hair/eye colour, family medical history (if the donator was telling the truth), etc. No names and no way of tracing him back then unlike now - which is probably why there's far fewer sperm donors nowadays.

This scenario would be interesting, seeing how she copes with NEVER knowing who begat her.

I think it will end up being all about with money they have plans to turn into the new super bitch/man eater, I think the past few months have been the starts of this, which is a shame as she was probably the most likeable character in the village up untill new year.

I really dislike the fact that Chrissie has been turned into a money grabbing cow.

I really liked her especially when she took responsibility for the helicopter crash and how she had such a strong moral side to her.

However she has been turned into a self centred bitch. Way to go Emmerdale

Agreed , she was also awesome when she became a hot drunken mess in the aftermath, now she insufferable and apparently has a fetish for cartoon antagonists. She's gone from my favourite to hoping she leaves this summer.

That would be a shame wouldn't it? I used to really like Chrissie but I admit I'm struggling with her a bit nowadays but if she turns into a money obsessed bitch I'll go right off her. You're right she was very likeable and I felt for her with everything Robert put her through and liked the way she confessed straight away after the starting what led to the helicopter crash so hated everyone turning on her and felt bad for her so I hope they don't spoil her now and pretty much do a character re-write because it suits what they want to do rather than whether it suits the character or not.

I feel they did this when she started going after Andy, she always had morals and class I don't think she would be the type te end up in such a seedy relationship. Her new lover just happens to bet her ex husbands brother with whom he has a long standing feud and also her step mums ex, tee hee hee how coincidentle and dramatic. There was never any spark between her and Andy and I really don't think she would go after someone like him at the best of times let alone all the baggage that would come with it

Oates thinks it's clever writing because of the drama it creates but it just ruins charcthers you like when they change them completely for a contrived and dramatic narrative.

Agreed this is all part of the rewrite as chrissie the super bitch, a few months ago she would have probably still Ben devestated but not a complete vow about it. I don't know why they are turning her into someone so unlikable
