Army of Ghosts Audio Issue (Blu Ray)
I was watching the Blu Ray of Army of Ghosts this evening and I noticed there seemed to be gunshots during the end credits music. Somewhat surprised, I immediately compared this to the DVD from the 4 series boxed set and those gunshots aren't present. I played the end credits on the Blu Ray once more, just to be sure, and they are definitely part of the audio of the Blu Ray.
I can only assume it's an authoring mistake when preparing the Blu Ray release. Anyone else noticed this? Is it a known issue? |

It's Cybermen stomping rather than gunshots. http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Army_of_Ghosts_(TV_story) Quote:
On the Bluray release, part of the Cyberman stomp sound can be heard at two points during the end credit scroll. These sounds match the placement of Cyberman appearances in the "Next Time..." trail, suggesting that the trail was originally planned to go before the credits (as happened with the trail during two-parters during the first series) but was moved during the edit. The stomp sounds are not present in the DVD or online streaming versions of the episode, suggesting that the Bluray release uses an incomplete or otherwise earlier edit of the episode as its source.

Thanks Corwin.
![]() I'm going to have another listen tonight as I didn't recognise the sounds effects as Cyberstomps, but I could be wrong. It's happened before....

Or Robin Hood or wooden forests that protect the Earth from fire. I'm expecting an episode in Series 10 where mentally alive coal or petrol protects Canada from Fort McMurray. As long as Murray Gold provides an overly emotive soundtrack, what can possibly go wrong, other than another 1.5M lost viewers... |

Yeah The fact that a poster can take a thread about an audio error and some how turn it into a Moffat bashing exercise really does sum up certain DW fans.
You'll be accused of suppressing opinion. For me, having an opinion and stating it (repeatedly even, where relevant) is perfectly acceptable. Repeatedly using obviously completely unrelated topics to push your opinion... is not. It's just needlessly antagonistic and, I suspect, counter productive if you actually want to garner support for your expressed opinion. And, just for you Isambard, *sigh*. |

Oh, and the entire premise of the show revolves around a man whose police box is actually a time machine slash space ship that's bigger on the inside. Doctor Who is a proudly silly show, and recent years have hardly been any different in that regard. As for 1.5m lost viewers, you can cling onto that bit of information if you like and constantly spout it to everybody to try and prove to them how bad the show is, but the facts are there. |

I was watching an episode of the Ambassadors of Death the other day and in that there is a scene where the Doctor and Liz Shaw are being threatened at gun point to hand over a reel of film. The Doctor's solution to his predicament is to make the reel of film literally disappear from his hand and then reappear some minutes later in another hand once they've dealt with the mad scientist with the gun. With some scientific gobbledegook given as a slight explanation for this apparent conjuring trick. I thought to myself that if something so utterly absurd and implausible happened in NuWho it would probably break these forums.

![]() You make a good point actually. How many wonderfully silly, nonsensical, unscientific things have happened in Doctor Who over the years? Things that we all happily accept as part of the show now, but if they'd happened, say, last year, they would be hugely slagged off as stupidly silly, nonsensical and unscientific. |

IB is clearly a lot cooler than us geeks and I see his sardonic, never knowingly positive posts as proof of that, in fairness. He's sort of the forum Charlie Brook....no, hang on, he's a fan. Umm...he's sort of the forum Katie Hopkins. Telling it like it is! Or like he sees it, anyway.
Is that a fair summation, Isambard?

Only just realised how this is actually a little rude and beyond silly. I'm sure he does appreciate his said blu-ray copy, but I didn't realise it means he can't point out an error which interests him. You're acting like he's criticised some holy work of art that was gifted specifically for him and is being totally ungrateful for it... From his point of view, he should take it as a positive that I was choosing to watch an RTD era story, rather than an SM era story.

And let's all remember, if I had phrased, "Sums up Dr Who fans, for you" as "Humans - always seeing patterns that aren't there", I'd have got 50 replies containing a string of smilies and now be regarded as a forum God. Like I said, sums up Dr Who fans for you, innit? |

To be fair, Lord Smexy, I don't think Isambard took what I said in that way. He was simply forcing the point to be a comparison with the SM era, as a reading of the whole sentence you partially highlighted, I think, shows.

I'm certainly seeing a representation of one kind of Doctor Who fan here. |

Sure, you see that kind of behaviour on Facebook and other mainstream social media, but I'm not sure I recall seeing it here.
That'll be the sole reason why no one here ever gets invited onto Doctor Who's Youtube fan show channel thing (not even Salad Fingers!!!). |

Welcome to Doctor Who. Throughout the years, we've had nazi pepper pots, potato head warriors, a hero who wears celery, a squeaky one-eyed alien ambassador who worries over everything, minotaurs with lasers, a Whomobile, giant ants and bumblebees fighting each other, farting E.T.s, teddy bears made of fat, and Peter Kay running around Cardiff in a rubber green suit.
Oh, and the entire premise of the show revolves around a man whose police box is actually a time machine slash space ship that's bigger on the inside. Doctor Who is a proudly silly show, and recent years have hardly been any different in that regard. But thanks for the perspective; you have given me some food for thought.
