Indeed Jay Leno is, although (like them or not) so are Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc. I wonder if he was ever considered for Top Gear (I know he appeared as a guest once.
His ‘Garage’ programme is an ideal vehicle (no pun intended) for him since retiring from The Tonight Show, and it’s good it’s getting a broadcast on Dave. Personally though I can’t forgive him for his role on The Tonight Show/Conan O’Brien debacle...but that’s for another thread.

ITV living in LaLa Land again?

Or a convenient spoiler attempt by the Mirror?

Quote:
“Jeremy Clarkson's The Grand Tour could turn up on ITV in few months

Anyone planning on rushing to buy an Amazon subscription in time to watch Jeremy Clarkson and pals in The Grand Tour next month may want to hang on to their cash for a while longer.

There is a chance that this year’s 12-part series, costing £4.5million an episode, may yet make it onto mainstream TV.

And if it does, viewers would be able to watch it for free in a few months.

ITV supremo Kevin Lygo is very keen to see if a deal can be struck for secondary rights to the hugely expensive show, which is costing Amazon £160million over the next three years.”

I would think that there's zero chance of GT turning up in ITV "within a few months", Rather worrying therefore that the Mirror has chosen to advise its readers to hold off with their Prime subscription based upon no evidence at all. The cynic in me might think that this is an attempt to spear Amazon's plans (knowing that the Mirror is anti-Clarkson).

I too hope the Mirror is wrong - at the moment avoiding seeing Clarkson's show takes no effort at all, if he managed to get it on ITV, I'd have to make a little more effort!

A complete non-story if you ask me.
ITV can ‘want’ it all they want, but if Amazon aren’t going to offer second run rights (and everything to date says they aren’t) then it’s not going to happen.
