Just wonder if anyone is familiar with this problem.
Had a blu ray player (Philips) connected via HDMI to my Samsung TV, bought about 8 months ago.
Everything worked well until a few days ago.
Normally, what happens when I switch on the player, a screen with the blu ray logo comes up, screen goes dark for a second and the menu loads.
But now, the start up screen with the br logo comes up but then the screen stays dark and the menu won't load.
I can play discs, DVD, CD and get sound, but no picture - and obviously can't select anything from the menu.
I tried a different player (Sony) - brand new - a different HDMI cable, same result - on both HDMI ports on the TV.
Every other source works fine - Sky box via Scart, USB from the USB port - only the br players via HDMI connection all of a sudden act as above after months of working fine.
Can't be the same fault on two players and two cables on both ports, right?
And why does the first screen come up - and then nothing, no menu, no picture?
I rang the Currys helpline - where I bought the TV from - they never heard of this problem.
I asked the guys where I bought the players from - they never heard of this either.
Thought about calling Samsung support, but wanted to ask here first if anyone has any advice?
I'm puzzled - but then, I'm not a techno-wizard...
Thanks in advance!
