Rarely has a winner of XF become so low profile in such a short space of time. A pity really as I thought that she had decent potential. Seems like the last two winners of the show have not been what the producers were hoping for.

I'm sure they'll try and launch her again during the next X-Factor run. Although I think she had a good voice, she seemed abut devoid of that certain something. And as we know it's not all about the voice nowadays to 'make it' chart wise.

Totally unrelated to X Factor, but I've just been listening to the radio in the car and they've been pushing the new Justin Timberlake song all week - even though he's got an OK voice and I normally don't mind his stuff, this track is pure guff, but they will heavily promote it because it's him. Or maybe because it's a track from a film - I don't really know?

Anyway, I hope Louisa makes it, she's a young girl and with the right material she could do well.

Its normally around x Factor time

The problem with leaving it until the next series is that the less committed Louisa fans will already have lost interest.

I would have thought that she would have had a single out before now because the average punter soon loses interest if acts are not in the limelight.

Louisa would've been fine in December had SYCO given her a decent winner's single. Even a more upbeat and happy sounding version of Forever Young would've done better.

I really liked Louisa but I genuinely hated the arrangement of Forever Young they gave her. It just smacked of "I Will Always Love You" and was too depressing for me to tolerate.

SYCO messed up big time. Of course, Simon won't admit he made a massive error of judgement. He never does, and that's why people have lost interest.

I think that she is yet another XF contestant that would progress better under a different label.

They have only ever done that once with Sam Bailey. Presumably because they wanted rid

They've shipped her off to California to work on her album, so she isn't readily available for gigs and PR appearances either.

Thanks for that. They should be keeping people more up to date with what is happening tbh.

I thought she'd have got wheeled out for the West Ham farewell party the other night seeing as they made a big deal on the show about her being a fan

She's doing what pretty much every other winner of XF has done, they always tend to disappear between the tour and their single

That's what I thought she's making her album and taking the year to do it - reg and Bollie obviously opted to have the single and album out quickly - over summer. Stops them both clashing later in the year

yeah sure shame she has gone off the radar I thought she had potential

Everyone goes out the limelight after X factor, Fleur did, Ben did, little mix did, Burke did, Leona deffo did, they concentrate on making albums - it's no different really, unless you follow the people you don't really know what is going on but they are active on social media

How can people have such short memories? Every winner since Leona (bar Sam Bailey) has gone away for months after their win

Ben was kept in the limelight much more than Louisa has been, not that it did him a lot of good.

I seem to remember Leona doing showcases in America and interviews in the period between her win and the album release though (although that might have been due to Clive Davis).

I agree with other posters that it's a mistake to let months go by without any hint of what is to come from the winner. Especially as Louisa's winner singer got such a poor reaction.

The difference with the previous winners is that Syco has maintained interest through the media whether it be tidbits about who they are working with or tabloid bating articles about who they are supposedly dating. With Louisa there has been next to nothing. The only article I've come across was one about how her fans were concerned about cryptic comments she made on social media.

X factor is simply not as popular anymore, in recent years I CAN only think of JLS and 1D and little mix as acts that have truly benefitted from the Xfactor. The rest of the signed acts are simply nowhere near as popular and simply forgettable and are just waiting to be dropped/ have already been dropped by Syco. This includes Louisa i feel.

I suspect Louisa Johnson has been upstaged a little by the rise of Zara Larsson at the minute. They're probably waiting to launch her until that hype dies down a bit - and her awful debut single is forgotten. Also so she's not in direct competition with Reggie n Bollie again - that would just bring back memories of the 'fun vs good singer but dull' narrative last year's show had.

Already having a boyfriend never helped.

If she was single I reckon she'd have been more successful. Everyone likes singles better.

The problem with the winners is that the show makes them really bland, they have no genre of Music to help support them in the charts, and they're given no promotion to even stand a chance in the Music Industry as Simon Cowell favours a more controversial act instead.
