BenQ projector - official firmware update provider
Does anyone know how I can go about updating the firmware on my BenQ W1070 projector officially? It came with version 1.02 and I found out yesterday it is now up to 1.07 and includes some improvements for 3D refresh rates. From Googling it, there only seems to be unofficial routes which is slightly strange?
Thanks |

Just bumping this. Anyone know where I could take my projector to receive a firmware update?
Thanks. |

I'm sure (assuming they still support the model) if you contacted BenQ they'd be able to put you in touch with a dealer or service agent in the UK who would be delighted to update your firmware for you at a cost. Plus of course you'd need to pay a courier to deliver and collect the projector.
Alternatively there's a very good step-by-step unoffical guide to updating the firmware here:- http://stevenbreuls.com/2014/04/benq...mware-upgrade/ |

I wouldn't try to update firmware myself on a new projector, it can go wrong.
Maybe for a 2nd/hand £100 projector it would be worth the risk if there was a specific improvement needed. Note for example that Benq do W1070 and W1070+ models. Do they use different firmware? Easy to brick it. |

Thanks. Yes, I did see those manual instructions but don't want to risk it on a £800 projector!
Will e-mail BenQ to see if they can assist but I doubt it! |
