I think people read too much into that tweet. I think it was just because they were in work on bank holiday.

I don't think the suicide was illogical as a lot of pedophiles commit suicide soon after they were sentenced or even during their trial which is worse for the victims who can't have closure (and some people think it's a way for them to keep control over them). I must admit that I didn't expect Gordon to kill himself though, especially as he claimed his innocence until the very end. But it also may have been for him a way to get to Aaron one last time.

Well apparently the first thought was that Gordon would slowly deteriorate (not sure if they mean physically, mentally or both) and that Aaron would see this but then they went with this idea instead (not sure if the plan was still ultimately for him to commit suicide though)

I still don't get why the 'did Robert have him killed?' thing had to happen. It didn't really add anything to the plot. I think the letter burning in itself was enough. If Aaron and Robert had talked more about it than just Robert forgiving Aaron that quick then I'd get it. I still liked the scenes but I don't get what all that was supposed to achieve.

I guess killing Gordon makes the storyline final but I'd have preferred to have him serving his sentence. Now it's like everything Aaron and his family went through was for nothing. Killing Gordon is another way of piling misery onto Aaron. Ok he wasn't super happy but he was gradually getting there and then they go and do this. I know it's soap and without the drama we wouldn't see Robron but it's still frustrating!

You really don't want to know (But if you do, I could message you to keep the negativity off the thread.)

BIB: 1- It was a Thursday double bill. Robert is always used for those double bills like 80% of the time.

BIB 2- I would feel that way if he killed himself before the verdict and sentencing. I do feel like he got justice. I`m just happy that Aaron can put Gordon behind him after so much misery and move on. I do feel like his death just caused unnecessary drama to an already drama filled story.

Good morning

So regarding the suicide thing for me i see This like in a way That Gordon was guilty he knew he was guilty and by commiting suicide It proves It to me.

Gordon didn't want to pay for his actions so he decided to end It by himself.

He is totally a coward but It happens very often in real Life too.

I'm imagining it's to set up the Rob-Liv conflict more securely (cos they seemed to be getting on fairly well at the Dingle party). I suppose now Liv knows there is something to know about Robert 'offing someone', even if it wasn't her dad, she's bound to be wary/worried about him and will probably try to find out more.

ETA. It always amuses me how nobody (but occasionally Robert!) ever seems to close doors properly before holding really private and/or suspicious and/or incriminating conversations. Rather like the unusual acoustic properties of the Woolie which sometimes let someone hear something from the other side of the pub even when they're being talked to by somebody else and there's background noise (see Adam hearing Aaron talk about the sentencing) and at other times prevent the person hearing something the person standing right in front of/behind/next to them is saying

In todays Daily Mail

"It's a busy time for the Grim Reaper. Edna, Gordon and this week there's another one.

Isn't it this week that Aaron has a life-changing decision to make?

Are they killing Sandra off to make Aaron her legal guardian and hence, a permanent character in the show.

His decision is in regards to the money that Gordon leaves him. He doesn't want to take it initially but Robert & (I think) Chas feel the opposite.

I think it might be the young boy David is having chemo with, there is a spoiler about David and Eric arriving home from a session looking sombre and breaking news to Jacob.

Don't think it is anything to do with Aaron, as we already know his decision is about the large sum of money he inherits from Gordon and they are only in Monday and Tuesdays spoilers and not around the week after, there would be a lot more fallout if it was Sandra dying.

Good afternoon.

I don't know what anyone else thinks but IMO Emmerdale are doing far too many heavy and rather sad storylines at the same time ... Aaron's abuse, Ashley's dementia, David's illness amongst others.

I'm finding some episodes rather difficult to watch.

Liv is already a permanent character anyway. that has been confirmed by IM.

It is quite bleak atm, I am actually surprised they decided to run David's cancer storyline at the same time as Ashley's because they are such serious long term illnesses. Maybe that is why they have tried to have comedy moments with David, to lighten it up.

I guess Aaron's storyline is nearing it's end and the character(s) will be given a good rest, with Danny and Ryan seemingly having a couple of weeks of work. So that will be one less depressing one soon.
