From what I have seen Ryan is a better Robert than the other Robert(s). He seems to have a charm and warmth the others lacked a bit. As Kelvin has been around 20 years I think it might be more difficult, and I am not sure there are any stories left for Andy - "children and tractors" as Robert once said of him.
You never know this does seem like an exit you could come back from and he still has kids in the village.

It seems likely that they've known Kelvin was leaving since the beginning of 2016. That's probably played a role in redeeming Robert and highlighting more of his charm and warm side. After all soaps do need there long serving legacy characters.

I got the feeling last year Kelvin was thinking of leaving because in a newspaper interview he said that he "could imagine a life without Emmerdale", which seemed to come out of nowhere. I admire - and envy him - rather. As I said last night, i wish I could walk out of this shop tomorrow and devote my life to the vibes. As I wend my way back down there here is tonights vibraphone feature - an apt and melancholy tune for an autumnal evening in August

Plus, of course, they would need some "adult" helpers: I'd suggest Charity, Jimmy, Rakesh, Rodney, Doug, Ross, Lisa and Zac.
If it's a racing club you could line up you're list above like skittles ..... Such fun

Yes. the "laugh a second" pub scenes with hammy fainting fits could have come straight from "The Dog In The Pond". It was another occasion when they seemed to be filling time just for the sake of it. As Dr Johnson said of something else (it would be un-PC to say what) where "comedy" is concerned: It's like a dog walking on it's hind legs - It is not done well - one wonder that it is done at all
Hiya my lovely

I do worry that because IM has a background with Hollyoaks that ED will become more & more like that show. I like exciting stuff but don't want an annual stunt each October with possibly killing off a couple of the cast like Hollyoaks do & gangsters.

Emmerdale have been doing "big spectacular" episodes every October for years It is an ITV tradition.

According to spoilers Robert not due back till 15th. Aaron only on 8th but hopefully some embargoed performances but probably not as Ryan was on holiday during this period.

Why does Andy call Robert for help anyway? Does he finally realise who has been framing him because from the trailer video and this weeks spoilers he still seems to belivie chrissie is on his side.

He must figure it out. What would be the point of carrying on the feud if he is leaving? I think I like it better this way. Robert has no real reason to suspect Chrissie, because he doesn't know Andy slept with Bernice.

You're welcome. There should be some good scenes with the boys, by the sound of it, when they get their revenge on Chrissie.

I'm with Ashley on that!! Imagine Gabby free ED!??!

Joking aside he never should have said that to her, but she kinda wished him dead first, not giving a stuff about Ashley's feelings. Gabby is a selfish, vile cow.

Sorry but WTF has this Chas/Charity bitchiness just sprung from?

They were fine before and Charity has been running the pub alone in Chas's absence yet Chas is back to complaining about her .

Anyway Moira deserves better than Cain. I don't care for Holly but anyone who thinks addicts choose to be addicts need to GTFO of my face.

I did like Liv's understanding how a false accusation could affect genuine victims of abuse alluding to what Aaron went through.

Chas was showing a reluctance to being in business with Charity before having a panic attack dropping some glasses - when Diane made Aaron clear up the broken glass. I don't feel it feels right with Charity being at the pub - she's not a good fit really, longer term I'd love it if Aaron replaced her half or something or Robron jointly maybe.

Well it was there when Charity bought the pub from Diane. I honestly think it was just smoothed over to accommodate Gordon's trial and Lucy's break. That's what you get in a continuing drama sometimes.

Reluctance yes but she was ok with it generally. Her issues at the time were centred on Charity not pulling her weight but clearly she has because she's ran the place for the past month.....

Or are we to expect Marlon ran it mainly? I dunno it doesn't feel right to me and im suspicious that they've rewritten it to have a new owner which wasn't in the plan originally.

Chas was just being full on rude though. Some of the language used was what you'd consider offensive if you were on the receiving end.....

I don't remember that prior to Chas going away even if she did have the occasional reservation.

It sprung from the fact Charity & Cain were getting into it on the sofa & Chas doesn't want them back together. Thinks Cain is making a big mistake & that Cain is better/calmer with Moira.

I'm sure Chas loves Charity but is under no illusions to her faults & scheming & Chas was p*ssed off & let rip!!

I do agree Moira deserves better than Cain & addicts don't choose to be addicts, but having said that I do like the Coira pairing & would prefer them to stay together.

Me too And the fact that I don't like Charity at all doesn't help for me to like this #Chain couple

I liked what Liv said to Gabby about not making false accusations.. It seems like Liv is an angel compared to Gabby

Chas was horrible to Charity but in a way she was trying to protect Charity too because she knows Cain was just going to use her then drop her and go back to Moira. I don't get the pub thing though.. Charity seemed to cope fine when Chas was away for like 6 or 7 weeks. She might be lazy or taking it easy now Chas is back because there is no way Marlon and would have put up with her doing nothing all that time and not complained about it.

I wonder if the plan all along was to have Robert and Aaron buy into the pub but that the idea was to have that happen slowly because of Chas understandable dislike of Robert. The whole thing where Charity catches them in the shower, and Aaron saying they have no privacy. Robert moving in to the Woolpack. Then Charity wanting talking about how much work the pub is etc. etc. It seems like they are moving millimeter by millimeter to the point where Chas is going to practically beg Robert or Aaron to buy Charity's share of the Woolpack..
