Nothing special so far. Trying too hard to be like Orange Is The New Black. More like Prisoner Cell Block H and Bad Girls.

Everyone, let's try at least to change Channel 4's bizarre decision to put the rest of this series online only, contact them and ask for it to remain on Channel 4:

It's supposed to be on All4 but it's not available on All4 through Sky as far as I can see. Does that mean I can only watch it on my computer not on my TV? How annoying.

Yeh and think of us who have not got Sky, and can only view All 4 online. They have about 15 foreign drama series sitting on there that nobody will get around to watch on a buffering and buzzing pc, or a tiny tablet screen.
Was watching a Motorbike world championship race replay online yesterday and the thing froze four times, and I ahave 125mb broadband. Channel 4 you idiots. |

I think it covers it just fine. They are broadcasting ep1 as a teaser for those who wouldn't usually use the All4 site.
The number of people who have been impervious to all the advertising and other subtitled programmes so only discover it though this one will be very small. And that will be at least offset by the number of people watching who will be frustrated they will not be able to watch the rest of the series. Quote:

Dammit, I liked the 1st ep and I want to watch the series but there's no way I'm going to sit and watch it on a poxy computer or tablet. Why are C4 being so arsey with this?

Channel 4 and Walter Presents in particular is starting to annoy me. Channel 4 is five days a week wall-to-wall reality and lifestyle tv shows and at the weekend double-hearder movies and yet they think it is hipster cool with bald, speccy Italian bloke Walter Jacuzzi or whatever putting all the new foreign dramas on All 4 only.
Channel 4, if your schedules were heaving under the strain of night after night of home produced dramas, this would almost make sense. But after Indian Summers shutters for good tonight, there are none, what are they playing at ? I do not mind watching the odd prog on iplayer such as Frank Skinner and his interviews but I prefer a larger screen and if I can not download then I am rarely interested. Channel 4 are shooting themselves in the foot especially as next week on Tuesday at 10 it is Britain's Weirdest Council Houses and I certainly will not be watching that. Oh Channel 4 why oh why when you have a good idea do you have to ruin it? |

How many people inclined to watch subtitled programmes on Channel 4 are not familiar with All4? Since Walter Presents was launched with the highly promoted Deutschland 83 they have been promoting online-exclusive content on their channels.

And that will be at least offset by the number of people watching who will be frustrated they will not be able to watch the rest of the series. I did not, because there was no point doing so when I am unable to watch the rest of the series. |

I would normally give a drama more than the one chance and I'm glad the rest of you enjoyed it and want to see the rest of the box set but I doubt I'll be looking out for it. |

I missed part 1 but was willing to give it a go. I went to All4.com and found the page but it claims to be playing while doing nothing and doesn't say why. Something's gone a bit wrong!
I think I just found the problem: I looked at 'requirements' and it's restricted to: "Latest version of Microsoft Windows or OSX" That's me out! |

I lasted the "traditional ten minutes."
Not for me too depressing, I really didn't care much what happened to her and I wasn't bothered enough to watch multiple episodes with naffin' subtitles to find out. |

Well it looks like this series has disappeared after one episode, with only a handful of comments on this thread, it probably was not a ratings hit. Channel 4 showing a double header of council house reality shows in the Tuesday timeslot just shows what people are really watching: total tat.
Think I will boycott Channel 4 for a month. |

I used to love Bad Girls and have always wished there was another programme in a similar vein to fill the BG-shaped gap in my life! I tried watching Wentworth but found it a bit grim and humourless, and the speed up/slow down-editing-technique got on my wick after a while, so I gave up on it after the first series. I haven't seen OITNB so I can't comment on that, but I've watched the first 4 episodes of Locked Up so far and they've got a similar mix of comedy, drama and likeable characters that Bad Girls used to have and I'm loving it. I contacted C4 (thanks for the link @WhoAteMeDinner) and this is the reply I got, so doesn't like they're going to rethink their strategy any time soon :"Thank you for contacting Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries regarding LOCKED UP. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us and your interest in this programme. We were very sorry to read that you were really disappointed that the remainder of the series is not being broadcast on TV. Please be advised that this series, along with the majority of Walter Presents: 4World Drama, is an All 4 Exclusive and as such, it is only available online. This service can be used on a Smart TV, on our website at Channel4.com and via an app on a device. I am sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. We appreciate all feedback from our viewers; complimentary or otherwise." Quote:

You're welcome Immusic, thanks for posting the super polite but totally useless reply from Channel 4. I am getting a horrible feeling in my stomach that Channel 4 are teeing us all up for a charging regime on All 4, just like the poor eejits who are charged for watching ten year old series on Sky Store.
After next week when the last Blue Eyes episode airs, Channel 4 or More 4 will have no drama series running, and yet there are fifteen unbroadcast foreign drama series sitting online. This is either a stupid idea or a cynical build-up to content charging. |

I got a similar totally useless reply from C4 about it being available on a Smart TV on All4. I pointed out in response that a) All4 is crap-o-fuzzy-vision on all platforms (using more diplomatic words of course), and audio is rubbish too, and b) I shouldn't have to replace my TV with a Smart TV to watch this kind of series, or watch on a teeny tiny tablet screen. For a) all they could say is "sorry we don't do HD on All4".
Given the lack of drama on C4 I seriously doubt I'll be visiting the channel again anytime soon. I'm not sure I care if they charge for All4 as due to issue a) I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole anyway. Maybe if they get enough negative responses then they'll realise how stupid they have been. They point at licensing rights in their email, but that is THEIR problem for negotiating such a ridiculous deal. I won't be holding my breath though. |

Simlar reply from Channel 4 to me, as Adspence and Immusic received, super nice, prompt and totally flippin' unhelpful. "We are sorry to hear of your disapppointment with All 4".
Arrrrgh, I have a seven year old non-Smart Sony Bravia telly, it is not going anywhere, has a sublime picture and sound and will last forever. My pc montor on the other hand has speakers that buzz like electric shavers and as Adspence pointed out, All 4's picture is in SD crappyvision. Channel 4 are morons, they have four bland movies on their main channel today, not a single new programme of any kind this Sunday and fifteen or more foreign drama series sit unwatched on All 4. Oh and I forgot: https://www.channel4.com/4viewers/contact-us everyone, if you can spare time, give them an earfull too. |
