I'm think of buying the Humax 1100s and already have the original Humax HDR.
I have two questions that I'd appreciate some help with.

1. Can I transfer the recordings from the old box to the new ones... I guess this is visible by mounting the HDD on a USB, but will the HD files be encrypted?

2. I currently use the LNB2 out to feed my Panasonic Freesat/Freeview TV (when the Humax isn't recording ) The 1100s doesn't have this facility. Can I simply buy a splitter to do this?

Thanks!

Unless you had the Custom Firmware and Nowsters patch (or recorded manually in non freesat mode) HD recordings will be encrypted so only the Foxsat-HDR that recorded them will play them back. SD will play OK and you can upload the .ts files to the G2 unit.

You need a special splitter to split a lnb feed. Note it will not be as flexible as the Foxsat. Guessing the G2 unit will have to be on (or recording in sby) and only channels in the same band (high/low) and polarisation will be usable. Guessing you will have a quad output lnb, if so why not use one of the spare outputs to give the TV a clean feed from the lnb.
