I'm definitely intrigued. I always wondered what Tennant's Doctor and his companions could have been like under (imo) better writers and this seems like exactly that. Big Finish managed to make even Mel an enjoyable character for me so I don't see why I wouldn't like their writing capability merged with Tennant and Tate's chemistry. The stories themselves sound like very interesting ideas, too.
Just need Christopher Eccleston and Freema Agyemen to sign up now so their characters can get the fleshing out they never got to on TV. |

Never had an interest in audio stories/big finish before, but I certainly intend to get these.
I do think that the winning formula of the Tennant years was as much RTD's brilliant writing and showrunning abilities, as it was Tennant's fantastic acting, so I do wonder whether these stories can come anywhere close to the RTD produced stuff, but still, a chance to experience a brand new 10th doctor story with Tennant and Tate is always something I'm going to be interested in. As an aside, part of me wonders why they didn't ask Billie rather than Catherine. Not that i've got anything against Donna, and I'm still looking forward to them, it's just I would have thought Ten and rose was the most popular combination of Tennants run. |

Well, we don't know Billie wasn't sounded out. But from their post Who work together, David and Catherine are clearly close and bounce off each other so well in interviews, so possibly it was David's input when discussions with BF took place?
I'm delighted as Donna is my favourite C21 companion and only had one series. I won't bang on about what I thought of how she was handled in her last appearance; wasn't chuffed; just pleased CT's back in a Who capacity... |

The most mainstream popular era of new who so far, and you claim it needed 'better writers'. I know you are a Moffat fan but does that really mean you have to have a dig at the RTD era even when no one is comparing the two?.
Personally, I prefer the term Doctor Who fan, as I have my own preferences and quibbles just like anyone. |

Maybe I'm wrong but hasn't Billie been a little busier than the others in recent memory?
Still, after a rocky start at first with Donna, I ultimately came to like the character by the fires of pompeii, so happy enough for it to be her. |

On a related note, people interested in the Ten/Donna audios may be interested to know there has, just this week, been a new Ten/Donna book released called 'In The Blood'
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Doctor-Who-...rds=doctor+who I'm assuming the timing of this release has something to do with the knowledge fan's are waiting for the upcoming audio's, and would appreciate some Ten/Donna content in the meantime. Probably going to get it since I read almost every tenth doctor book at the time when he was the current doctor and they were being released regularly. |

She does seem to have been busy and in my opinion I think that it would have likely been her if she wasn't so busy. I'd be surprised if she wasn't at least asked at some point.

Love 10. Love Donna. Love 10 with Donna. Love the writing during season 4 - character, depth, passion, comedy, drama, adventure and romance. A truly golden era for the show. If these Big Finish audios capture a fraction of that, they'll be well worth the money x

Wasn't it mentioned somewhere that David specifically requested Catherine. Certainly the two of them have worked together a few times since the series ended.
Listened to the first story so far - very much in the style of the series though not as good, a bit generic and lacking the flair that RTD brought to his era's scripts. Still a solid start and it's a delight to hear the two of them together again. |
