Decided to make this thread for those who have completed Uncharted 4: A Thief's End to discuss anything and everything story related without ruining it for everyone else, if you clicked here accidentally back out now because be advised, this thread will contain heavy spoilers.

So... what did everyone think about that ending?

I honestly felt terrible thanks for making this thread.

But yes the ending was pretty great. Very fitting and there could possibly be a spin off series with Cassie.

Hey don't sweat it man, it's all good

I think it could go one of two ways at this point really, it could go and carry on with Cassie or it could be a prequel/sequel type thing where you play as Sam and Sully in the events between beating Rafe and getting to the Epilogue, I think either would work for me.

Also those Crash Bandicoot easter eggs and the various teases of The Last of Us 2

The Last of Us 2 teases, oh boy I slept on those! I got the pharmacy TLOU reference and there was a picture behind something which clearly had the letters of THE LAST OF US but it was purposefully obscured. Was there any more that I missed?

Crash Bandicoot was actually goddamn surreal though jaw dropping moment quite literally.

I don't think you missed them then, the picture in Cassie's room had "The Last of Us: American Daughters" and a picture of what looked like a pregnant Ellie wearing a gas mask, or maybe it might have even been a prequel with Ellie's mum wearing a gas mask, pretty interesting either way

Yeah when Crash showed up the first time complete with Playstation One start up noise I was absolutely floored, and then the second time with the camera pan round to Cassie I was floored again, amazing stuff

Oh wow really? I did not see American Daughters, I wonder what that's about!? There might be some kind of announcement at E3 about TLOU 2... can't wait to find out.

I know, it was so nostalgic to hear the intro sounds on the Playstation. Naughty Dog hitting me right in the feels.

Yeah I'm curious to see if they announce anything at E3 too, I mean a "The Last of Us 2" reveal just a few weeks after Uncharted 4 releases would be absolutely insane

And them putting Crash into Uncharted 4 makes me wonder if that's a sign that they DO have the rights back, I kinda zoned out during the credits so don't know if Activision got a shout out or not but I'd have thought that there'd have been an unreasonable amount of effort getting Crash in his short 5-minute-total gameplay time unless Naughty Dog have something Crash related up their sleeve, so perhaps that might be an E3 announcement too, but then again I've been banking on that happening for years now and still nothing yet so...

It would be amazing!

I wondered where that stood legally. Good idea on Activision being in the credits or not, worth checking out. There was some news a while back about the voice actor of Dr Cortex being asked to reprise a role of a "doctor" so some kind of Crash reboot may be on the cards. link

Well now that's piqued my interest Got the game booted up, about to jump back into the final scene of the game to sit through all the credits again

Can officially confirm: Activision are NOT in the credits for Uncharted 4

Considering Activision like to make it known that their properties are THEIR properties, I think that *surely* means that the Crash Bandicoot rights have reverted back to Naughty Dog? I suppose it's just a matter of weeks until we find out now

Guybrush Threepwood is in the game too. Alas they don't own the rights to Monkey Island

I know there's single player DLC coming out for this and there's been a lot of speculation on what it might be. Most people seem to think it'll be Sam when he runs off near the end looking for the ship or something with Sam and Sully.

Personally I'd love to either see something Nate, Elena and Cassie (on one of their exploration trips, lots of puzzles and no combat) or something involving Chloe and Cutter since they didn't appear in the game itself. They both already have models for the multiplayer so they could certainly be included in a single player campaign.

It could even be Sam and Rafe, and what they do in the 2 years between Sam getting out of prison and finding Nate.

One of the directors over at Naughty Dog said that even though they aren't included in the Uncharted 4 base game, Chloe and Cutter's stories aren't over. So that leads me to believe we'll get a short story based on them as the DLC.

I do hope so (especially since the models are waiting there to use). I love the two of them in Uncharted 3 - particularly how it showed more dimensions to Chloe - so it would be great to get an adventure with them, hopefully with a cameo from our main trio.

Tbh as much as I thought Sam bought a lot to the story he's not really a character I'm interested in playing as. He just didn't grab me somehow.

Agreed on Sam, as the boat was burning down and he was trapped under the pillar seemingly about to die, I wasn't really panicking all that much. If it had been either Elena or Sully in his place then I'd have been freaking out hoping that Naughty Dog didn't kill either of those off, but with Sam seemingly on death's door I was pretty indifferent. I think if Uncharted 5 does end up having Sam there'll need to be some solid character development in the early game, as well as having some compelling side-characters to support him (as well as Sully ofc).

I felt exactly the same about Sam. I cared because Nate cared, I was more concerned that Nate was going to die saving his brother. Especially after his last conversation with Elena.

I think the dlc will be about Chloe and Cutter. If only for the fact that Chloe sent a letter talking about a job and Cutter was mentioned in the story. Also Claudia Black has done the voice work for Chloe in the mp while other characters who will definitely not appear again have impersonators doing them.

Haha! I hope they have I'm sure Naughty Dog would do it better.

I was actually thinking this, Nate's story is wrapped up so the DLC wouldn't be about him. A DLC as Chloe/Cutter makes more sense as to make up for their absence.

The wheel/cross puzzle near the start of Those Who Prove Worthy - Chapter 9, very similar to the underwater puzzle at the beginning of Tomb Raider Underworld, if anybody can remember that far back hahaha

Who died there by the way, after thinking they got it right? The second take was a very good idea.

I don't think it's particularly surprising that you didn't care about whether or not Sam bites the bullet. I mean yeah, we love Nate, and Nate loves him, but that's the only connection to his character I was really feeling.

He behaves like a ******** for most of the game, guilt-tripping Nate into "getting back into the game" with some made up bullshit about Hector Alcazar, which almost costs Nate his peaceful setup, marriage and life. Not to mention that Sam didn't bother to see Nate for 2 years after getting out of prison, and then to cap it off, Sam abandons them at the very end to continue his treasure hunt after Nate, Elena and Sully bust their balls to save him. Him also not liking fan favourite Sully also doesn't help.

Thinking about it, I'm starting to think he wasn't meant to be likable

Just finished. Amazing game.

Love the end of the story, but not too bothered about the epilogue. Maybe they're just potentially setting up a character for another. Contrary to what some of you guys think, ID love a game with Sam. He was great, though I never trusted him from the start.

And I love that the story and characters stayed grounded though I was half expecting to fight Avery's ghost or something at the end.

I was a bit disappointed about the lack of supernatural element myself, Drake's Fortune is still my favourite of the series because the story took an unexpected and interesting twist. I get that a lot of people prefer the series to stay grounded but I thought Uncharted 1 did the supernatural element in such a way that it didn't really compromise the grounded feel of the game.

Oh don't get me wrong, I never minded the supernatural stuff either but I also liked that every Uncharted doesn't have to go down that road either.

Completed this game and loved it, I'm kinda glad there were no monsters or supernatural, it didn't need it. I died a lot which was frustrating. But I don't believe this will be the last game, Sony won't let one of their best exclusives die.

Took some photo and thought I'll share here
