Absolutely this. Might be a tough one when I finish listening to the songs I'm not aware of.

Think this is probably the best song I've ever entered in Fantasy. Really hope it qualifies... I need at least 1 qualifier this year

Dan the Banjo Man - WTF is this? Better dancers than Little Mix though...

Lady Gaga - I feel like the captions might come in handy. It's good, but it's no Fame Monster era smash.

The Communards - Dad dancing at its finest here. Can happily say goodbye to this.

Carrie Underwood - It literally is death by Nashville, too much for me.

Troy Sivan - I needed this cheesy bop, palate cleanser.

Lia Marie Johnson - Well this is jolly...

NERVO feat. Kylie Minogue, Jake Shears & Nile Rodgers - Goddess Kylie is the only name in this list I'm interested in. <3

PoP! - Good god this is scraping the Smash Hits barrel.

Radwimps - Uncoolwimps more like. Leave it to Babymetal lads.

Sugababes - The glory days of the Sugababes.

Marios Hadjichristos - For a minute I thought it was going to be some weird cover of No Woman No Cry. 70s night in a Greek restaurant might lower their standards to play this.

Kyo feat. Sita - Some outdated rock grizzle.

The Beautiful South - Those knives are very tempting enduring this list. I only like their Don't Marry Her one.

Cesare Cremonini - Just seeing the word Broadway tells me I'm going to hate this. *gets as far as 20 seconds* yep it's a full on man dirge.

Sofia Jannock - I doubt it took her long to write, but an enjoyable Sami yoik all the same.

Cocovan - Love her name! The 80s synth beats are cool as well.

Dua Lipa - Dua to the rescue. <3

Robson and Jerome - Next...

Sara Bareilles - A bit ropey live, but it'll do.

Angela Lansbury - Disney week was months ago.

Hinge and Bracket - Someone else that's clearly given up on Fantasy already...

HA-ASH - The chorus really saves this from dirgeville.

Gosh I've got to find 10 to vote for?

I'm pleasantly surprised by the Lady Gaga track, normally I have little time for her... but this is ok.

Also is it a bad sign of aging that when I got to the Communards track that my first point of reference was, oh yes the one with the chap from Radio 4 breakfast?

I think Saara was just a little chuffed with that. They'll probably reward that by burying her in the death slot next week.
As long as she sings Wuthering Heights I don't care Seriously though I'd at least like her to make the tours.

I don't know, I just remember watching, years after the fact, Jimmy Somerville and Sarah-Jane Morris switching vocals on Top of the Pops and wondering why nobody threw rotten vegetables at them for mucking around the song and proving that the whole show was complete farce! And the Rev. Richard Coles is a nice enough guy I'm sure, but I haven't been as keen on Saturday Live since Fi Glover left, she's sadly wasted on The Listening Project. Yes, I'm a Radio 4 nerd, Eurovision and The Archers, fair to say I have fairly broad tastes....

Regarding this selection - tough list to pick a winner from as usual. I always seem to get down to two and can't choose!

And miracle, Saara's still in X-Factor! Despite her so-called mentor not knowing her name! Still think that she or Mikael Saari would have been a FAR better pick for Finland this year, but hey....

Leads on-to a question for all of you guys, anybody participate in the OGAE Second Chance poll? Great list of second-place finishes there.

Astonished Ella Daniel for Israel did as well, though I have a bizarre fondness I cannot explain for that Italian Patty Pravo, not the foggiest clue why. Rejoice, Bianca for UK wasn't dead-last! Totally not surprised by Margaret at all. I was Team Margaret for Poland this year, it was just so damn catchy! I do have a broad church sensibility and do like the dramatic, and I do like entries that have something of the source country about them, even though I don't speak a word of Ukrainian I still liked The Hardkiss's song, they made a really good video and it was a tough year. I like them in-general actually (my Dad is into heavy rock so I was raised on a diet of music that fill stadiums which probably explains it), I'm just not sure about the dude with the mask, but I still think if Jamala had in a parallel universe not entered, they'd have done well in Stockholm. I enjoyed Tom from Belgium a lot but I still think that they did a great job staging 'What's the Pressure' and Laura Tesoro and her back-up nailed their jobs. Laura and 'Supersonic' probably would have done better for Estonia than Jόri did, but then he's got some pretty good stuff out as well. Saying that, I reiterate my 'so cheesy it hurts but still delightfully entertaining' feelings towards 'Laika'. So what if The Hungry Hearts and Lisa Dillon can't actually sing, Laika the Dog probably wasn't gay and disco was invented at least 13 years after she went into space, it's proper entertaining! There's a frickin' car on the stage people! They have a floating dog in their graphics! If you cannot at least smile at this, you are dead inside! Dead I tell you!

Anybody have any hates on the results list? Thoughts? Anybody?

What a novel idea, holding a national selection where the public actually get to choose the winner.

1. Dan the Banjo Man - Dan the Banjo Man - Erm...what on earth is this? Was expecting a bad song, not dancing sims
2. Lady Gaga – Perfect Illusion - Was considering entering this myself, not that bad, but do prefer her other songs.
3. The Communards – Never Can Say Goodbye - dreadful
4. Carrie Underwood - Smoke Break - Love Carrie, really liking this.
5. Troy Sivan – YOUTH - At least I can finally put a face to the name, not a bad song to be honest.
6. Lia Marie Johnson – DNA - Really enjoyed this
7. NERVO feat. Kylie Minogue, Jake Shears & Nile Rodgers - The Other Boys - Wasn't sure what to expect, but actually enjoyed this.
8. PoP! - Serious - Love this song.
9. Radwimps – Zen Zen Zense - Not really my cup of tea.
10. Sugababes – Stronger - See above...
11. Marios Hadjichristos - Κάθε που φεύγεις - Really enjoyed this.
12. Kyo feat. Sita - Le Chemin Tried to like this, but couldn't.
13. The Beautiful South - A Little Time - Love TBS, but not a huge fan of this song, sorry.
14. Cesare Cremonini - La Nuova Stella Di Broadway - If this was 'Lost in the Weekend', this would have got high points from me, not a fan of this one
15. Sofia Jannock – Irene - Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed this.
16. Cocovan – Chic (Someone to Love) - Another decent one.
17. Dua Lipa - Blow Your Mind (Mwah) - Prefer 'Hotter than Hell' but this isn't bad either.
18. Robson and Jerome - I Believe - Oh no thanks, love how the picture still has the £2.29 HMV label on though
19. Sara Bareilles - Eden - Really liked this.
20. Angela Lansbury – Beauty and the Beast - Meh
21. Hinge and Bracket – The Cat Duet - And I thought the Banjo man was bad.
22. HA-ASH - Perdon, Perdon - A good end to the playlist.

The entries for UMK 2017 will be revealed in just under a month's time, surprisingly early compared to previous years not that I'm complaining.

Doesn't give Saara a lot of time to prepare given how busy she's been over here the past few months.

This whole thing about "Objectivo Eurovision" being an online contest really means that RTVE can not be bothered to spend money on studio, jury, presenters and the inevitable rubbish backing singers. Well the winner will be massively overhyped again like Barei and Edurne. Remember when Barei went SECOND FAVOURITE after the performance in the final?!
I swear RTVE cares even less about Eurovision than BBC and even they are putting some effort in it. What is that awful 1980s Neon logo? It does not even feature the <🇪🇸3 in the logo nor any part of the Official logo.

Just send Ruth Lorenzo or Alvaro Soler and you can watch the points flow in Spain.
