Ok. We have to agree to disagree on Eric then

So my notes might make a Weedy Review. But not a proper Weedy Review, because its a Eurovision theme, so I'm allowed to like the songs.

Sweden 2012 – Sara Li
Sara Li (and her posing friends) is definitely one of my guilty pleasures, and this version is the one where the scream was in tune.
Netherlands 1983 – Vulcano.
That blonde is a big girl, liking the beachwear. Thanks for the treat Drew.
Norway 2015 – Pizza
Hate Country and Western, Hate Line Dancing. Love pizza love the violin and and girls in tiny shorts. Deffo a GP.
Denmark 2015 – World of Girls
See previous comment. No pizza though.
Estonia 2016 – Meisterjann
Not the Estonian entry I was hoping for. And monotonic chanting is not a pleasure, guilty or otherwise.
Portugal 2006 – Vania
OK, I understand why three posing gentlemen who have removed their pyjama tops might be a GP for some here, but it doesn’t float my boat. Possible Javine moment averted near the end. Shame.
Lithuania 2010 – Ruslanas
I am entirely without pleasure at having to sit through that dreadful noise.
Sweden 2012 – Lotta & Christer
Music from the 1970s, so probably BBAnnes. Not a fan (of naff duets from the 70s, (he amended quickly)).
Sweden 2004 – PayTV
This is awful in a staring at a car crash on the other side of the road sort of way, so could be a GP.
Norway 2013- Datarock
It’s a bit dull. Can’t see why it should be a GP, unless you have a yen for red tracksuits.
Sweden 2008 – Christer
More 1970s rubbish from a Swedish Max Bygraves, and so twee I wanted to vomit. So if Bulimia is your GP this is perfect.
Sweden 2002 – KBL
Bjorkman, we are one short for Melfest. Find a few women of uncertain years and dress them up in leather to sing a cute generic pop song….
Sweden 2008 – The Nicole
…Or find a hot blonde in a mini skirt and surround her with pretty blokes. She can’t sing? What does that matter. The song is terrible anyway.
Slovenia 2015 – Rudi
An oompah band and an accordion. We need one of each at Eurovision. Sure to attract Drews 12 (if this isn’t his entry)
Belarus 2014 – Elena
Cod Opera. Fab. I may have spiked this FM’s first choice last week by putting in Opera Skaala, and I was considering this one as my entry for this week…
Belgium 1957 – Bobbejaan
Great find. Love the wee wee bit, and his mac looks perfect for flashing. Suspect thimsy or Only_You is behind this one.
Sweden 2011 – Love Generation
I remember these outfits. Does my bum look big in this? Not if we shape the white bits right. Notice how the four member girl groups all have the same lineup, (See Denmark 2015) one pretending to be a redhead, one blonde, one dark and one of colour…
Ireland 1996 – Sean
An Irish folk band. Delightful. Including manic howling woman.
Sweden 2015 – Dolly
Dolly Style V1.0. Should I confess that Rollercoaster was my second choice for this comp? Perhaps not.
Latvia 2001 – Banjo
Banjo Laura was robbed in Latvia that year. (Musiqq? Who are they?)
Sweden 2015 – Eric
Ah yes, the one with the herpes lyrics. Now if someone has punched Eric in the face, that would have been a GP for me…
Sweden 2009 – Amy
Goofy teenager sings ordinary pop song (with a keychange, obviously). Not really a GP for me. (Sorry Foxy, although I understand perfectly why you would like it.)

Good list this week. Well done everybody.

Saara was amazing. They finally found the right mix of being entertaining and showing off her great vocals.

I give up if she's in the bottom two again tonight. Well, tomorrow night.

Definitely her best performance. Nothing too over the top.

Apparently the lifeline vote has gone which may help her

Shame they've buried her brilliance in the death/clash with Strictly slot though.

At this point, I only bother YouTubing Saara's performances, but that was her best yet - and a standing ovation!

Think she might make it through another week. The Ruth parallels are coming thick and fast now, even down to song choices.

Just back in home now, will get caught up on your fantasy entries soon, keep them coming!

Saara absolutely smashed it. Now watch her represent Finland in Kiev next year and of course I won't be there to meet her at the opening ceremony

I can probably host something next week if needed.

Tricky playlist to vote on this week with the guilty pleasure contest, not sure where to put the songs that I like but are already forum favourites. And poor Lotta and Christer having three entries, they probably don't know whether to be flattered or totally offended!

Can't see it being next year, she's on the X Factor tour now, she'd have to pull out to compete in the NF I think?

That Lotta and Christer song has one of my all time favourite Eurovision lyrics, the immortal "From a distance you're still hot"

Up to 15 entries now, everyone should have a reply so far to say your song has been accepted.

You have until 6pm to get them to me!

No Brazilian spoilers please Lisa, some of us poor souls have to wait until after "Great Canal Journeys" 🙄

Mind you, I'm off out in a couple of hours, I can wait to watch Nico win the WDC 😉

In last place...

This is more disco than anything on X Factor's attempt at disco week! Do the band think they're cool in their Roy Orbison sunglasses tribute?

Well at least you weren't last for a change, geeky. She got lost on her way to JESC methinks. So ashamed of her past she's reverted back to her real name, Amy Deasismont in her adult music career.

21st: Sweden 2009 - Amy Diamond - It's My Life - 23

Our naughty non-voter...

Really popular on the average scores. Behind the scenes at Miss World 1983. There was only one point in it between Vulcano and Bernadette in that years Dutch NF.

20th: Netherlands 1983 - Vulcano - Een beetje van dit - 30 (46 points before 33% deduction)
