Nicky still blaming the Eville Eastern block. He said only Western countries finished in the bottom 4, forgetting that Norway beat Slovenia and Albania.

Also, I was reading the tweets about his performance too and the vast majority of the positive comments were from Irish people. A lot of people thought the song was bland and that his singing was bad.

Maybe Ireland, Denmark, and UK failed because all the teenage girls were busy drooling over Donny Montell for some inexplicable reason.

Everything I've heard of them is saying how much they loved it and want to do it again

This. They seem to be really great guys. I did expect them to 'do a Molly' I won't lie, but their attitude is admirable.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility of them presenting our 12 points next year.

Fans of former MelFest teen pop warblers KLAXON

Amy Diamond is back under the name Amy Deasismont with a stunning new song on Spotify. This would have done really well in MelFest I think!

They have been amazing about everything. Infact I have not seen much negativity arising from the UK delegation.

Yeah I thought exactly the same. The blonde guy was so much better than the other 2
Whilst he's certainly not bad looking it's clear the other two had a bigger limelight as they were both very attractive.

Well, they did clear Anja Nissen to perform Never Alone despite it having been performed by MDF in 2014.

They'll make up some bullcrap about it being fine and dandy as usual, so don't worry.

It's me, Jamala is perfectly safe.

They'd explain it away by saying it hadn't been officially released for sale before the cut-off.

I think that's the new "improved" rules isn't it?

Won't stop us jumping on any song we hear after September 1st every year though

I'm sure this can be very much explained away that it's not in its final form, and hasn't been released publically and to a large audience. My feelings on songs has changed a lot since I heard Anouk on a radio show a few years prior to Birds being released, to Anja Nisen and SunSay and EBU rulings on it. I will not be best pleased if Eurovision give in to the aggression and throw Jamala ever further to the wolves really.

I will say this though, this witchhunt against Jamala is actually pathetic tbh. It's pretty obvious there's Russian fans who have been actively searching for ANYTHING to get her on. I just don't understand why people want to go to the levels they are to libel her and ruin her career. It's so cruel. She only sung a song with political context, and the reaction has been worse for her and far more political and aggressive than she ever has.

The mean-spiritedness over Ukraine winning is actually making me feel a bit upset if I'm honest, and soured what was my favourite Eurovision since 2009 for me. Just let her be, and have her rightful win whether you had favourites or not. The televote was close, Russia wasn't a runaway favourite in the 'people's' vote by any means. This is just awful.

I know how you guys feel. It's the first time since I've been watching that my favorite song won but I can't even be happy about it because of all the controversy it's caused. It also sucks that she didn't win the jury or televote.

This is is why I wanted France to win. It would have been the least controversial winner of the favorites.

Everything I've heard of them is saying how much they loved it and want to do it again
I'm relieved to hear that! I was worried they'd be super upset about the result. I still think their song was dull but I really like them and I hope they will have a successful career.

I just don't understand it? I'm a bit miffed now because obviously the song is just not cricket rule-wise (well, to me, anyway) but people really need to get a life. I wasn't too thrilled with the new system, kinda annoyed that it even changed who the winner was, but so what? What's done is done, Jamala is the winner, and it's a great song imo. Loved it from the moment she won the NF but I really didn't expect her to win, so a nice surprise in that respect. Roll on Kiev 2017, or wherever the contest goes to next...

Now to go back to waiting for a statement from Sharapova.

If you've got a few minutes to kill (35 to be precise, a long shot) why not vote in DSFE?

Wait, non-players can vote this time? I was actually just thinking about going over there and listening to the songs but I assumed I couldn't vote.

I'm not really the person to ask, Beth (host) was asking someone to post in the main thread as she needed votes. Either I've completely misunderstood (just for a change) or yes, that is the case.

I just do as I'm told.

Exactly. Leaving aside my feelings for the song, this clutching at straws desperation to reverse the result is frankly ridiculous and childish. How sad must someone's life be to actually go searching for this kind of stuff and trying to petition the EBU? I'm pretty sure the rabid Russians will (again) be told to go and take a running jump.

Now to go back to waiting for a statement from Sharapova.
Oh god don't.
