OK, the contest to find the best Eurovision song of the last five years is now open.

Absolutely any Eurovision song between 2012 and 2016 is eligible, including winners. Please send me your entries via PM before 6pm on Sunday.

Good luck!

Kelly Clarkson This is really emotional, had this on my list
Loic Nottet His voice is transforming into Mel C's, its decent

Fuel Fandango This was a recent winner on the other thread, its really good
Carlos Vives, Shakira I'm a sucker for these duets
Michelle Treacy This was good.
Turkiss The 90's have just arrived in Baku, This is decent
Eddi Reader Oh its the lady from Fairground Attraction, this was ok
The Travelling Wilburys 5 ageing legends try and rekindle there careers, This is the kind of thing you hear old people sing in karaoke bars.

Julie Bergan This has grown on me since I first heard it.
The 1975 They remind me of another band, I wanna say Walk The Moon.

Creedence Clearwater Revival This was alright
Pentatonix They where quick, not the best version like.
Giorgia ft Alicia Keys This is all kinds of amazing

JoJo Jojo's all grown up and with a really good song too.

Not long to go before selection season begins - yippie!

Not sure about Brequette. I get the feeling Spain could send something astonishing and still do badly, every good song they've sent recently has been either criminally under-rated or sabotaged by some other means. RTVE don't have the passion to do it right and back it with a first rate PR campaign. One gets the feeling the commercial sector wouldn't have destroyed 'Say Yay!' with that staging (although who knows just how influential Barei herself was in the decision-making process), but I just don't see things changing.

I'm not overly optimistic for Germany either (some of that has to do with Stefan Raab) and I rather liked Ann Sophie. Italy was probably a blip this year with a good song that just didn't quite come together on the stage and San Remo is usually very competitive to I would expect a good song to come out of it anyway. France - please, please, let 'J'ai cherché' not have been a fluke! I cannot bare the Big 5 being butt-monkeys anymore!

I am not going to even mention the UK here because we're wasting our time and money, destroying somebody's career out of hubris and it just gets me very cross!

To be honest I highly doubt Joe & Jake had much of a career ahead of them. In fact they are probably going down in the books as the most well known, most successful and most famous act to ever come of The Voice.

I don't think I could even name a single winner of The Voice if you put a gun to my face.

Bo Bruce, Leah McFall, Christina Marie, Lydia Lucy...

Oh wait. No, silly me, that's just my 'Acts who should've won' list.

The actual winners have been wiped from my memory, thank god.

All rehearsals and reviews from today.
We are not allowed to film a lot of the backdrop so videos look a bit funny...

Can't have an on-stage exorcism to any of those!

From what I can remember, I think Barry was very much the master of disaster when it came to the creative process for Say Yay. It was her idea to do the floor drop pause. Brequette's 3 efforts are all co-produced with Barry and Barry's boyfriend, so they're all well in with RTVE and of course Brequette was one of the backing singers for Say Yay and runner-up to Ruth a couple of years back, so the odds are already heavily stacked in her favour.

How can you destroy a career they never had? Joe & Jake hadn't performed together before and did nothing of note after The Voice, I'm not sure EV had even met before they were thrown together, and Molly was performing to youtube from her bedroom. Then there's the has-beens looking for one last taste of glory - Rocks and Honey anyone? Compare that with what the likes of Australia, Russia, Sweden, etc do sending established names or artists just making their breakthrough and is it any wonder we're in the state we're in?

So San Marino have come up with a way to have a sort of Televote, a selection of Sammarinese people will have a special online vote during the live shows, queue the special brown envelopes from Azerbaijan

Hope the EBU go with it. The new method is stupid and will put off smaller states that can't produce a televote (and other countries that sometimes can and sometimes don't fulfil the televote number needed (such as Albania)) off from returning.

SM's method seems fair, as long as the selection of Sammarinese citizens is a decent amount...

I was wondering how they were getting on with that, given their disapproval of the fake vote and only wanting to participate in 2017 if that could be resolved. It was pretty shambolic that there was no Italy or other neighbours in their fake votes last time when you so know they'd be there if they could televote.

I know it's totally OT, but some news that may come to fruition soon and could have us searching for a new place to congregate...

Hopefully this doesn't come to pass in the way most posters in the thread concerning the tweet seem to think it will, but we may be living on borrowed time here now.

On topic.....

Baquette isn't going to give up until the Spanish let her go to Eurovision is she?

Look forward to the Finnish songs. A nice early Chrimbo pressie. The Albanian's are slacking in comparison.

Oh no! I really hope they don't close down the forum, I can't think of any alternative for us if that was the case. I know we have Facebook but it isn't the same.

What a sudden end to a great era that would be.

It doesn't necessarily mean what we think it means, maybe just merging some sub-forums back together or trimming some staff? Clearing out all those junk count to a million type game sub-sections would save a bit! The forums aren't as busy as they used to be, but the BB forum is still the busiest section when that's on.

It's true, but it is probably still worth thinking about what would happen if the forum just suddenly disappeared, just in case. Does someone have a link to the Facebook group?

Had a few entries in so far for the next contest, some interesting choices, keep them coming.

Oh man I'd be gutted if they closed these forums. While they're not what they used to be (apart from here of course!) but they're still always worth a look. The main news site is just terrible though. Hopefully it's just that that's going, I assume that where most of the staffing is.

Hopefully it just means downsizing the news side? The news site died a death when we moved from the old blue theme. I guess the writing was on the wall when they removed comments from news articles, which was probably quite a decent indication of how popular the site is.

Although I have noticed the areas of the forum I post in most have been significantly less popular over the last year or so than what they previously were.

If they do close the forums, I hope that they give us time to find an alternative so we can still post together *gets all sentimental ).

Yeah it pretty much became Buzzfeed with each article full of annoying bandwidth stealing gif. images. The site is definitely a shadow of its former self, which is quite sad. I seldom make much effort to even look at the front page these days.

Yeah I don't bother with the main site any more when there's already Buzzfeed that does it better.

Saara will sing My Heart Will Go On.

Not the best song but will be able to show off her voice with no gimmicks

It's a big song and everybody and their dog knows it so it's not an awful choice but it's such an iconic song, I think she'll need to do something with it so she's not trying ŧo be Celine.

Might be a vote winner though, it's regularly at the top of 'best movie theme ever' lists and there's no doubt she'll do it justice vocally so I'm cautiously optimistic
