Finland 2014 The last time Finland sent a really good entry, and it got the placement it deserved
Serbia and Montenegro 2005 They might be able to ssing but they can't dance in time can they.
Finland 2006 Utterly bonkers but brilliant at the same time
Spain 1973 One of my all time favourites, what a voice and performance
Turkey 2010 Clearly made the best of the awful 2010 stage by switching off the back drop and having an epic stage show
UK 1997 Katrina doing her best Kermit impression
Latvia 2006 I really can't stand this and their robot
Norway 2005 Forgot how much I liked this
Germany 1985 I preferred there other entries
Switzerland 1977 Elton John performed for Switzerland in the 70's?
Russia 2007 Still have no idea why they are dressed as nuns
Romania 2012 This is making want summer back, so I can have it blasting
UK 1981 The moves are really basic aren't they, and at one point Jay goes completely out of tune, fun song though
Germany 1994 Classic, what a year 1994 was
Bosnia & Herzegovina 2009 This is ok
Moldova 2011 I much prefer their first entry
Bosnia Herzegovina 2005 Love this
Germany 1979 This is crazy and bonkers
Portugal 1989 First time I've heard this, quite liked it
Sweden 1974 Clearly this had to be here

I'm flattered! Thank you!

Well it was just a random guess, your moaning just reminded me of my grandmother (she is approaching 90 so I was nice really ) She can never be wrong either.

Don't take it so seriously!
Ok, I've decided to forgive you, or at least ignore the slur... Even if it was quite nasty, and as I said, had you seen me irl, you'd never said anything like that! (And how would you feel if I asked you if you're 70? No difference.)

I was just looking forward to maybe getting some birthday wishes here for once, as normally my birthday falls outside the ESC season... But it was probably a mistake to mention it.

At what part was I "moaning" though? I was rapt over the Best band playlist, so quite the contrary, and in fact I moan significantly less than most here

Interesting reviews, Phil, even if I disagree with most of them (apart from Moldova 2011 and a few others) And I've never seen nuns dressed in miniskirts

Think Saara will be incredible with her songs this week.

Had a feeling she might be given rubbish but she's got Mariah's Xmas classic and Sia Chandelier

13 December, so there's a wee bit of time

Using last year's list, along with a couple of additions, one from this year and one that time has cruelly overlooked

Hopefully they are cutting it down, A Dal was good for the first few years but 2016 was really stale with the judges having too much power and getting rid of anything with a bit of life and keeping the dullards in. They at the very least need to get rid of Hungarian Paul Hollywod

Did we decide on a forum champion or are we not doing that? Would be nice to topple Euphoria for once!

I'm going for a bit of Joy Fleming personally - she dropped to the 200's last year and I don't want to live in a world where Ein Lied kann eine Brucke sein isn't recognised as one of THE greatest songs and performances in Eurovision history

This was a very close second to "Ein Lied kann eine Brücke sein" in the German NF. An absolute classic from Uncle Ralph with something for everyone. Any other year.....

As for Melfest, I'm concerned about the "feat. Aninia" associated with JH especially if this is an example of her work. She's going to interrupt his joiking.

I wouldn't worry about it, you can rely on Melfest for a crazy genre mix that really shouldn't work but somehow does...

Maybe they'll have a joik-off?

And whilst that German gem is good, when Joy's in the mix then it's a no-brainer. The best non-English song Germany submitted until Satellite in 2010

Ba-boom tish!

ETA: I read yesterday that Joy's three backing singers were all British, and included Madeleine Bell of Blue Mink fame...
