Thanks to the four for appreciating the talent of the Pepe Lienhard Band whose quality is demonstrated by their longevity having just completed a tour of Switzerland, Austria and Germany (the hilly bits) with a tribute to Udo Jurgens who they supported on his tours.

Congratulations to Nick and thanks weedy for hosting.

As for "Shouty McShoutface" Aalto, I get the support given her Eurovision credentials but the voice...

I'm absolutely made up for her.

It is the most random story arc the show has ever had though, from trying out for Eurovision and being screwed by juries to auditioning for the show and getting a negative edit and eliminated after trying to sing French at an ignorant audience to boos, to randomly coming back as a wildcard, despite nobody bigging her up for one, to having no viewer support and nearly being eliminated in week 2 to now being the favourite to win. Never seen anything like it.

Dami Im's Aussie X Factor experience was random as well. She only made the live shows because another contestant dropped out and she was drafted in as a replacement and stormed the whole thing.

Damn, I thought no one would have noticed!

Well done on the win buddy, and also to weedy for hosting

And a more random story than Saara's journey to the final

I'm going to see a show "The A-Z of Classic Rock" in the mighty metropolis of Norwich i January (stay with me)

I found the website and looked at the band members, one of which is none other than Ricardo Afonso from Festival de Cancao 2014 (and the Voice UK 2013)

Do you think if I shout loud enough, he might do a rendition of Chamar a Musica after Smoke on the Water?

I wimped out in the end, my fear of being jostled by rabid Donny supporters was too great Seen a few video clips of it and it looks like it was fun!

We should have arranged it together as a midway! The only non-Lithuanians in the audience! Fly is a tune

The whole album is actually ok

Next time there is a random artist, we should totally do it! Lauris Reiniks played Ipswich a couple of years ago so it does happen

Actually, that's a good question

What albums from 2016 artists has anyone managed to get hold of?

I've got Amir, Barei, Donny and Francesca

Never could get Sandhja and I would have loved to have heard her stuff!

So Fantasy heat 8 is open, you have until 9pm on Tuesday to get entries to me, with playlist shortly afterwards, results to follow on Sunday.

5 entries so far so keep them coming, last fantasy of the year!

Yeah Dami is one of my all time favourite international acts. She blew me away on that show.

I'm waiting for Poli to get a move on and capitalise on her success! I wish Ace Wilder would get the hint and release a full album as well, I need that in my life.

Great contest this week. So glad with the groups theme. I did the females so in 2017 there has to be a male soloist's round?

And myself and Jaccobabe exchanging our douze's!

Excellent hosting.

Maybe inspired by Saara's success, Finland's other star Stella Xtine will audition for next year's X factor

other eurovision fan favourites such as Loreen and Lena, Poli and Polina should consider auditions..

fingers crossed for Electro Velvet..

Only 8th?? One of the most groundbreaking winners ever? Oh well, at least the winner was one of my (other) favourites.

And understandably I wasn't here yesterday (recovering from birthday partying, among other things ), but seems none of you remembered my birthday, apart from Weedy (you rock!)... So you better not expect any birthday congrats from me, either

Nightwish, please, Nightwish!
I don't think they care much for x factor

Switzerland have released the six songs to take part in the their national final on 5 February. All six acts are female artists.

http://www.srf.ch/sendungen/eurovisi...scheidungsshow

Overall the standard is higher than in recent years but not sure if there is anything that could take them out of semi-final. Gold for me is the song has the biggest potential but I like all the songs

A lot of revamping required with those!

Good to see Timebelle back, I'd go with theirs since it sounds most finished. I don't mind Shana or Michele's either.
