Heard some of Dihaj's stuff on youtube, very contemporary-sounding and electronic!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oYoHtoO0SY eta: Switzerland mediocre again across the board, surprise surprise. |

Switzerland have released the six songs to take part in the their national final on 5 February. All six acts are female artists.
http://www.srf.ch/sendungen/eurovisi...scheidungsshow Overall the standard is higher than in recent years but not sure if there is anything that could take them out of semi-final. Gold for me is the song has the biggest potential but I like all the songs ![]() |

Entscheidungsshow 2017 - Switzerland NF Review
The Entscheidungsshow is no longer 'Die Grosse Entscheidungsshow' and with this selection of dirge, it's easy to see why. Usually I'm a fan of the Swiss NF. 2015 gave us Melanie Rene and Timebelle, whilst last year I was championing Stanley Millar's gospel (Gospop?
) tune. This year, that's not the case. From one dirge to the next, this has to be one of the dullest national finals that I've ever witnessed. I thought this was supposed to be a revamp? I predict a hat-trick in non-qualification for the Swiss... Freschta - 'Gold ' - Dee you double ell, Dull. Meaningless album filler. I can't find a single positive in the song. Decent voice though. Ginta Biku - 'Cet Air La ' - Well, it's fun. Upbeat. I can't say I'm a fan though, the French chorus is probably the high point. No from me. Michele - 'Two Faces ' - Owwwww. Indeed. A bit overkill on the woah-oh-ohs. Good voice for sixteen but the song is oh so annoying. Nadya - 'The Fire In The Sky ' - Typical ESC ballad by numbers. It's nice with a strong voice. It won't qualify though. Album filler #2. Shana Pearson - 'Exodus ' - Horrendous backing singers. Favourite so far as with a revamp it could be pretty good. Still not great though. Timebelle - 'Apollo ' - It's not a patch on their last effort. Shame. Most polished song of the lot. They haven't saved the show. Good luck with that Switzerland! One dirge to another. They're all as bad as each other. If someone put a gun to my head I'd probably plump for Shana and 'Exodus' if it got a major revamp but she needs to ditch the backing singers. Timebelle are my runners-up once again, with this rather inferior effort. |

No wonder Timebelle's effort sounds the most polished if this is true.
William Lee Adams @willyleeadams 3 Min. Timebelle's #eurovision song in Switzerland was rejected by Azerbaijan in 2015. I was on a panel that previewed it ![]() Ginta's a bit of a scandal hound it would seem. Diamond smuggling apparently. ![]() ![]() Nadya's got a solid voice I have to say. "Apollo" owes more than a little to Shontelle's "Impossible" Hmmm....... |

Dunno why Aiste bothers, she's entered about a billion times now and never won.
Also lol @ that comment on Timebelle's song, doesn't surprise me at all. Third semi last place in a row for SUI beckons. |

Good news - Portugal seem like they're trying this year!
Festival da Cancao will allow entries in English and they've invited a bunch of modern pop composers to submit songs.https://eurovoix.com/2016/12/05/port...val-da-cancao/ Oh, and their final is March 5th

Mediocre from Switzerland once more, but what else is new?
Loving Dihaj's sound though, but I would like something a touch more upbeat from her than 'Complain' it's a bit 'end this now pls it's gone on too long' |

Not sure about DiHaj for Azerbaijan, have never really liked her music. If she sticks to her usual style it seems quite a big change for Azerbaijan, given that they usually send something pretty mainstream.

I see former Azeri NF hopeful, Ellyland aka Elvira Michieva is on the Unser Song final 33 list.
I'm sure it was this I sent next door that earned her the call-up.
