I'm so pleased to see that someone has entered 'How Far I'll Go' this week, I didn't enter but I was very tempted to send that in. I saw Moana last Friday and absolutely loved it, although I do prefer the version that she sings in the movie.

Still, we can always save that version for 'Best Song from a Disney Movie Part 2'

I loove Moana! Hei Hei is literally my favourite Disney character ever <3! Agreed that the movie version is much better, though. Shame they don't have a video up like they do You're Welcome, though.

Save those prayers for hoping that it's not Cliff!

My flatmate bought the soundtrack and we both love it! Most mornings I'm being woken up by Dwayne Johnson singing. My personal favourite besides Moana herself was Pua although he was severely underused in the film I have a massive soft spot for Disney animals.

Rumours are that it is Euphoria as she already performed it at a gig a few years ago.....I could live with this.

Would prefer RLAP, but Euphoria seems likely.

Think it's a mistake though given the GBP's attitude towards Eurovision as something to be sneered at

True, but I think Euphoria is probably the best choice since it got to #3 in our charts. Less sneerage, perhaps.

It's definitely the least sneerage-worthy of the choices for sure, but I can imagine the haters just rolling their eyes so hard that they'll see the bits of their heads where their brains should be 😛

Rise like a phoenix perhaps? Certainly would let Saara show her vocal range. Also fits the story of her X-Factor journey as well being in the bottom 2 the first couple of weeks.

The 6 Swiss hopefuls in studio form...

https://soundcloud.com/tvescfan-2/se...17-switzerland

Mad Nad definitely has a voice on her.

120 plus submissions and these were the best they could find? Seriously?

I think we can safely assume Saara won't be reaching the top 2 then. I'm out on Sunday anyway, so am less disappointed about missing it now she won't be there.

She has! That was near the bottom of my list going off of the live versions but that's a contender for me now. 'Gold' on the other hand is just as dull as I anticipated. Timebelle's offering is pretty decent too. Little disappointed by 'Exodus' as it's definitely not the banger I'd hoped it would be in studio form, but I'm still hopeful for it after a revamp. The other two are just as bad in studio form.

Seriously? Indeed.

Saara's probably going to do No Fear.

Never thought I would see that performed at the X Factor final. Terrible idea though if true.

No Fear would be a good choice as a winners single, literally nobody outside of us Eurovision fans would have heard it and its a great song. Much more interesting than the insipid Ed Sheeran Album Reject Ballad they apparently had written.

For the Eurovision song, Rise like a Phoenix suits her journey and even if they simply replicate Conchy's staging it's a show stopper of a song and could be a 'moment' (Even if Eurovision is sneered at over here, it's lovely to think it's going to be represented in the X Factor Final, even if its not the event it once was)

My isn’t selection season coming on thick and fast now? Can’t wait until we get properly started in January! I reserve judgement on Azerbaijan, but I suspect now Switzerland might be trapped in a UK-like vortex of mire….

Breaking news:

Here, here!

I beg to differ – she already has! The staging of her version of ‘Chandelier’ screams ESC! How come ITV can get it right on a talent show and the BBC is so crap at the real thing? Honestly!

Going Nordic makes sense given she's Finnish. 'Euphoria' would be great, 'Rise Like a Phoenix' would be totally appropriate, I agree. ‘Undo’ anybody? That’d be epic, just to see what she'd do with it. I’d be happy with a lot of ESC songs, of any vintage. Just about anything with a woman out-front belting at great volume would do really. Of course, it would have to be something that’s Top-3 minimum no more than five years ago for the audience to not to immediately go ‘huh?’ They won't touch any of the British winners, we don't care enough and its too long ago – 20 years, how sad. If it were anywhere else I’d suggest one of the golden oldies, a bit of Celine or something properly old, but nope….

I take it I’m a total anorak for thinking that it’s very difficult to be a true classic when it ain’t at least 10 years old and still holds up? I know, I know, I’m sad and anal, but I still have a soft-spot for the good old days when we were good at it….

To hell with it! Saara Aalto for UK 2018 and then pray!

I also pray that Portugal will one day crack the Top-5, that San Marino will one day make us proud as justice for ‘Vola’ and the Czech Republic of course. Phew, that’s a lot of praying!

Eesti Laul are revealing songs in the first semi every hour today until 5pm (UK time). They've started out strong this morning: Lenna and Elina are the first two songs!

Lenna - Slingshot:

Elina Born - In or Out:

There's a danger that they've revealed the two biggest contenders already: these are fab.

Elina's song by Stig (surprise, surprise) They're both really strong songs, but prefer Elina's. Slingshot seems a bit of an ESC cliche / Melfest reject with the lyrics and arrangement. Switzerland be like at this selection.

All of the 10 songs from the Eesti Laul semi have been leaked apparently: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/..._ESCUNITED.zip

Just heard Elina and Lenna's tracks, Elina's song is brilliant, Lenna's is better than her atrocious 2012 effort (which I was in the crowd to endure!) but still pants! *plays Cool Vibes*
