Send them BOTH to Eurovision (because Matt's not going to have much of a winning career, let's face it - I actually think he's a good fit as an artist for the contest).

I think I'm pleased for Saara, she got the absolute maximum amount of exposure possible on the show and doesn't have to be lumbered with the god awful winners single. No wonder she said she wanted to come second.

She's a star though and I hope she'll go far with her career both here and in Finland, it's turned her into a national hero

Also, voting figures are in and Saara topped the vote the last 3 weeks including last night, and was never in the bottom 2 on the straight vote (Stupid Lifeline app thing)

Song choices what did it. Saara topped the vote in the QF, SF and was in the lead at the vote freeze last night!

LOL as I suspected all along, Saara should never have been in the sing-off!

So she won the vote in the quarters and semi final and was leading after the Saturday show.

And she was never actually in the bottom two

That voting article couldn't even spell her name right most of the time - do they know who she is!?

Gutting. Won the past three weeks to be pipped at the post. No doubt the majority of 3pm's voters (11%) went to Matt and that's what's done it.

Hope she represents Finland in 2018

Haha. Yes that is the correct answer.. I still feel sorry for her not winning. She must sing for us we would vote for her because of common intrest, those pesky tween girls robbed Saara seeing as a lot of the 00:05am (thanks Lisa for coining this) voters went for Matt.

I agree with you (that's a first! ) After that, it looked pretty certain he would win... Especially as Saara's 2nd song was not that good.

You guys are too harsh on Matt, he seems like such a nice guy, at least give him a chance!

I was quite surprised they have it so close to Easter, but maybe no one really cares.
Not really Easter itself, bu8t like in N orway, very few people work that week at all, so many go away on holidays. Probbaly not really those kind of people who would attend EiC tbh. Hmf

Moldova are having their semi on February 24th (14 songs), with the final on the 25th (8 songs).

At least they're not going for another sprawling mess of 28 entries with about 6 of them being passable.

It's a hilarious sprawling mess though. I'm just glad they're having a NF after all with their money concerns and probably thinking what's the point with the poor results it returns. Plus Doinita would be lost without her annual outlet!

Malta's provisional list of participants is being revealed today as is the Sanremo line up.

Spain are hosting a pre-Eurovision knees up. No excuse for the BBC not to try and blag an invite, Ryanair do cheap flights to Madrid.

BIB -

I can't wait! Hoping to see Christabelle & Brooke back, especially. And it's an actual national final this year!

Not forgetting a yodelling wire-haired dachshund! Danke for die zwolf punkte. Sadly both Die Kasermandln did indeed die earlier this year within a month of each other.

Congratulations thengp12, at least one Finn was a winner yesterday. Thanks Nick for hosting.

Is this the usual tension filled reveal in the cramped studio with each qualifier receiving a juicer?

So Amsterdam one weekend and then Madrid the weekend after right? I'm on Uni break then, so may have to think about going to one of them.

So the DS announcement puts paid to the rumours about losing the forum then! Very excited about liking/disliking posts and I kinda want to go to jail....

And Moldova is another one for the extremely full 25th February??? Shame I'm going to be away that weekend 😏

Not what I expected! Great news! I'm disappointed that the cat-dog-fox is going though...

First post from the DS Forum Support I've seen and I was not disappointed.

Being able to like/dislike posts, that sounds fraught with peril. Should make some forums more fun! I'm glad the search function will be back, it's worth the downtime for that alone.

No this is the phase before that, just revealing the initial batch of names.

Thank god we are staying put! I hope you can add GIFs embedded in each post! The like/dislike will make things…fun? But the fact that YouTube videos will automatically supersize in posts will make our Fantasy Heats posts look VERY LOOOOOOOOONG.

Looks like Banned people can appeal their ban to come back! Build your nuclear bunkers EuanDesu can come back!

That's a very good point!

Also the pop-up notifications. On a busy NF night it'll be going like the clappers when everyone's posting and replying!
