well it could have been worse for ireland, they could have picked the blonde guy from HomeTown with the repugnant face!

I'm still holding out hope that Louis finds a great song, but I'm not too optimistic.

I just want to qualify for once, is that too much to ask?!?!?!

There's plenty of positive reaction to the selection from around Europe amid the negativity. This guy could certainly be capable of getting a decent result if they could find the right song for him.

I suppose there's a slim chance if his voice breaks between now and May.

Ireland has made a good choice. All he needs is a memorable ballad.

I need to start making my Eurovision 2017 playlist on Spotify.
I'll add Brequette but are any other NF songs already available?

UMK are up on Apple Music, so I imagine they're on Spotify too.

All the Finnish songs are there.

Edit: Snap.

The remaining 10 in the Spanish wildcard selection.

Some of the others that didn't make it are up as well. Wiwi have got a few other partial NF playlists like Eesti Laul and A Dal with the handful of songs that've been uploaded so far.

Speaking of Spain, who do we reckon will be the chosen three on Tuesday?

My choices would be...

Baguette
Javian
Rebeca Moss

As much as I like "Esclava", when the instrumental break kicks in all I can see is Torvill & Dean strutting their way through the Bolero.

LeKlein's song is a headline waiting to happen.

Anything but "Daddy's Little Girl" though.

I'd be rooting for this if Totova didn't exist (and she might actually WIN too now serial misogynist Pierrot is off the panel! )

A Dal's lineup in general is a massive improvement on last year's so far.

LeKlein has been tweaking "Ouch!"...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7J2tV9X-3Y

She's got a striking look to her, minus the snot catcher.

And I really didn't expect Javian to be a group for some reason ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8rDtE7yUhQ

oh and "No Enemy" in acoustic form...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeyHpQVoY4s

not for me.

"I'm stronger enough to hold on." ?

"Must place your heart inside your child." ?

This song is a hoot. Love it.

I would probably like that, but it needs translating pronto because the Hungarian simlish really doesn't do it any justice. They should definitely borrow the neon staging from the LED crew.

Brequette and Javian are pretty much a lock, even though I still think Javian's song is utter instrument overload, it's on trend for the current Spanish music scene. The third could be any of the others really, heck they let that Daddy issues song slip through the net, so I wouldn't put it past them to continue being that random!

The Dark Lord continued his path to Eurovision domination by interfering on the jury of the Armenian NF tonight.

As for Armenia they've whittled it down to two females to battle it out in the final of their little side project to pick the artist.

Weird fact: The Russian voice of Tamatoa (the crab in Moana) is the lead singer of Mumiy Troll (Eurovision 2001). Seems a good fit.

I love this, it's so fitting! Particularly given that 'Shiny' has a bit of a David Bowie vibe to it.

It's actually really common for Eurovision artists to provide character voices in Disney movies in their native language. Some recent examples include Poli Genova as Judy in the Bulgarian version of Zootopia/Zootropolis and Silvia Night was Elsa in the Icelandic version of Frozen.

Well those Finnish songs sound all a little desperate...pls tell me that is not all of them...from the heavy heights of a few years back to this. Someone ring a bell for me...

SHAME!

I think I could get into the one in the finnish language, but the rest, perhaps Lisa can enlighten me.

And that blackbird song is the most awful piece of dross I have heard for a very, very long time....

And Rykak in the UK, I am not a happy bunny...boo! I say! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
