Seems a lot of effort for a 21st place finish in May.”

Oh wow! Yeah you have to wonder why they bother

Festival of Kangaroos? Wake me when it's over!

In fact I need to stop calling it that, a Festival of Kangaroos would actually be entertaining.

Just an heads up, Friday will see the first NF of the season with Albania making their choice. Like last year I will be hosting our own re-votes on the NFs and eventually all our winners will go forward to our Fantasy Eurovision 2017.

I am committed to finishing it this year and hopefully you will all vote again this time. To ensure voting doesn't dry up I will be allowing people to vote for each NF as soon as the show is done. So on Friday as soon as the NF is finished (or even as soon as all the songs have been performed) you can PM me your votes traditional Eurovision style for your top 10.

If you prefer to wait and re-listed to the songs that is fine, I will be posting the songs with Youtube links after the show has competed and they are up on Youtube.

I am working night shift on Friday so won't be here to remind you all, however I just wanted to get your opinion on something. Would you prefer I did different individual threads for each countries NF like last year. Or should I have everything in one big thread, it might make it easier for when a few contests are on the go at the same time.

Let me know and either way a thread will be opened on Friday before I leave for work to remind you all that voting will be open from Friday evening.

My vote goes for one thread Terry. Saves having to go hunting through the forum when the individual threads start falling down the page (I know, it's such a chore.)

I think I'll give the Kangaroo Festival a butchers tonight. I'm sure I remember reading that they were planning to modernise the contest this year, but who knows what that would mean in Albania?

The acts and supposed running order for tonight...

Flaka Krelani
Xhejni Lito
Genc Salihu
Erlind Zeraliu
Xhesika Polo
Festina Mejzini
Edea Demaliaj
Neki Emra
Yll Limani
Franc Koruni
Orges Toçe
LYNX

No idea how many of them qualify and I'm not even sure if we get any results tonight either.

So many unpronounceable names, love it! Would be such a shame for Lynx to get the nod 😛

^ Not running around with scraps of paper to announce the qualifiers?

7 from each Semi go through to the Final, so slightly less of an endurance test than usual.

Xhesika (Jessica) Polo seems like she could be a good choice

Let's hope she's bringing something like that! Would certainly give the golden oldies on the orchestra a work out.

The host broadcasters have live streaming on their websites and Eurovision.tv show all the finals on their web player.

If you want a modern take on a 1970s NF then FiK will be right up your street. I think you might enjoy the Albanian Christmas adverts more, especially if they do the bizarre, models in the snow, catwalk featurette again.

A bit more about tonight ...

The show is hosted by Ledina Çelo (Eurovision 2005) & Kasem Hoxha. Tonight, 12 singers will perform their song, but we will not know the results until after the second semi-final tomorrow. After both semi-finals have been held an "expert" jury will select 8 songs for the final, a public jury will select 3 songs & a media jury will select 3 songs, making a total of 16 songs in the final, which will be held on Wednesday 23 December.

Obviously, I just translated that all from the news broadcast on at the moment

Does anyone have any idea if there will be any way to catch up on FiK after the live show.

I am working a day shift tomorrow and night shift on Friday. So won't be able to watch the next two days. But would like to know if there is a way to catch up on them, wouldn't want to waste my time watching tonight if I won't be able to see the next two days.
