Here's hoping Russia's dummy throwing is only temporary until cooler heads prevail and they rethink the decision.
My concern for Russia leaving, is that it could lead to its cronies joining the bandwagon....and countries might start disappearing.

To be fair, as much as some Russian fans did take it too far, there is some basis to their claims about jury problems. I'm sure if Russia had won, people wouldn't have been so quick to brush the blatant issues under the carpet.
I think the juries buried it, but was it a conspiracy?

Maybe Russia withdrawing will be a good thing might force the EBU to stop messing with the contest

And? They're in the wrong, if they want to leave, go for it. The same way as I felt about Turkey.

Apparently the Russian prime minister has said Russia will not participate again...

http://www.slobodnimediji.com/newsin...ontest-anymore
Is that even a reliable site? I still don't think they will really leave. Maybe for 1 year but no more than that.

I've been Googling like a demon and that's the only site carrying that news.

Someone stirring the pot it would seem.

I agree that they are likely to be absent in Ukraine though.

Well seeing as the network that runs Eurovision are state owned I would say yes they are not coming back. LOL at the comment. "Well sing nicely with everyone else"

The site appears to be Balkan (from the language of their slogan) so it's not too close to the horse's mouth. Plus, they're not too hot on spelling (purposses) so I don't take it to be too official right now.

LMAO at Nicky's comments. Stay pressed Mr. http://www.rte.ie/ten/news/2016/0523...ne-eurovision/

Also with the whole Germany coming last debate. Shockingly it might've come last because the song was deary as f*ck.
There's this article too from last week:
http://www.irishtimes.com/culture/mu...nest-1.2647359

Utterly depressing.

I know RTÉ and Nicky are hardly going to throw their hands up and admit "yes, the song was shit", but it seems they genuinely do believe that it was a good song and would do well. Scary, really.

Just like Pete Waterman thinking we should have walked it

Poor Bonnie, even in a totally made up final we were struggling
That was cool though, I'd love to see more rehearsal footage like that.

The one thing that makes me happy about Ukraine hosting is that Verka will appear in some capacity

So today marks 60 years since the first ever Eurovision in 1956.

If DS was around back then what kind of posts do you reckon we would be seeing?

Hello! Post-Eurovision Depression hitting hard? Well, it doesn't have to.
Ever thought you could do better than the IDIOTS in charge of selecting various countries' Eurovision entries? Well, you can have a go.
How?
By getting involved in DSFE, that's how. Take a look HERE (Ny-Alesund is in Svalbard btw) to see how to play, then if you want in, drop jag02010 and Alexos a PM, and they'll give you two countries to play with. We're a welcoming bunch & we'd love to see some new or returning faces - so come on in, the water's lovely*
*cold, but lovely

Do we really think there is a chance that Lviv could host Eurovision? http://wiwibloggs.com/2016/05/24/wil...n-2017/142651/

Booked a hotel room (free cancellation thank god) just in case it gets the nod. Although my god accommodation prices in Ukraine are cheap compared to Stockholm.
