It's easier to understand the results of a massive televote and a tiny jury score than the other way round, diaspora, damn catchy but little substance - a massive overall jury score and a tiny televote always looks way more dodgy to me *cough* Malta *cough*

One thing that struck me in the build-up was how random it was that Ira travelled all the way to Armenia just to spend a day with Iveta, don't know whether to read anything into that or not, but it seems Malta did well with the Armenian jury.

But as yoshi says it's impossible to stop everything that goes on, and even when we pretty much know that certain things have happened by looking at the voting, how does anyone really prove it?

Don't forget all those acts that travelled to Malta to spend time with Ira

Bosnia's return could be a short-lived affair if there's any truth to this Bosnian article.

No one has opened their submission process as far as I know, however Switzerland is a good bet as they usually open up web submission later in the year and you can upload your offering. Spend the summer making a nice video for it!

How would Malta actually be able to get high jury points off everyone? Sure they can only agree to swap points with a couple of countries anyway. Plus they gave 12 to uk.

Not really a surprise if true

If I were going to submit a song I would go for Moldova or Lithuania (of course neither have confirmed for 2017 yet), they seem to accept anything and they'd have a better chance of being chosen than in Switzerland.

Oh cringe. Russia's going to hold their JESC NF in Crimea. Now watch them do the same with ESC.

That is just taking the piss. I really, really, really dislike Russia as an ESC country now. I could not care less if they never compete again, irregardless the fact that they did a brilliant contest.

The venue has previously hosted a Ukrainian JESC NF. I mean wow.

In better news, The Netherlands have internally selected a girl group. Let's hope they're as great as Lisa, Amy and Shelley from 2007 (now known as The Voice of Holland winners O'G3NE!):

The Dutch have picked already?!

Can anyone with a Swedish Spotify account listen to SaRaha's new jam for me. I'm jonesing to hear it up but it's not available ANYWHERE outside of Sweden.

On the plus side, Wiktoria's news song is an absolute bop.

It's not as instant as Kizunguzungu, but it's still got some good jungle beats in the chorus going on.

They've picked their act already?

If it's true and a girl group I think it actually is O'G3NE.

When I saw the words 'Netherlands' and 'girl group' I was instantly reminded of this horror from the 2010 NF season.

They made a big deal of holding a contest in Crimea in 2014 too, it was supposed to be a selection event for the revived Intervision, but I don't think Intervision happened in the end once everyone had calmed down over Conchita. A familiar face won the event in Crimea though...

Sorry! Should have been more specific

If they do wanna send O'G3NE in 2017 they're more than welcome to though

eta: IVAN <3 I think of all of the semi finalists this year (even Greta!) I missed him the most from the final. That act would have been perfect on the Saturday.

The worst part is that it nearly won as well!

The staging was gloriously nuts, was just watching it back yesterday. I loved the fact that Belarus' strategy was 'screens are popular, let's use one of those' but they had no actual clue how to execute it properly. And I've still never figured out why he had those lines all over his face, or why the song ended with a hologram of a baby?
